This is my first Brothers and Sisters fic, it's a little mixed up between Seasons. The idea came from the episode "A bone to pick" where Kitty slept with someone in the past, but no one could find out who it was. But as I said, it's a bit mixed up.
At the start of this fic, Kitty is 27, and working in DC.
April 22 1994
I came out of the bathroom from my small DC apartment, I was in shock, how could it have been a yes, we had been careful; very, very careful. I glanced down at the small stick in my hand. How could such a small piece of plastic contain my fate?
I didn't know what to do; there is no way I could tell my Father, or my Mother. Mum and I, we did not get on. And now this; this would just prove to her that I was no good, that I had made a big mistake with my life. And then there was Sarah, she and Joe, had been trying for ages, with no luck. How would she feel, that her little sister got knocked up, and was unmarried. Not to mention the shame. No one could ever know who the father was.
March 1st 1994.
I picked up the phone, my hand was shaking and dialled my sister's number, I had to tell her, she was going to find out sooner or later.
"Hi Kitty," I heard her cheery voice greet.
"Sarah." I knew that she could tell something was wrong. She was my big sister, she knew everything about me, there was no chance of hiding it from her.
"What's wrong?" Sarah quickly asked.
"I'm pregnant," I blurted out.
"What? That's amazing!" she screamed down the phone. She had taken the news better than I had thought, but I knew the next question was coming.
"You kept him quiet," she said "Who's the Father?" I sighed and leaned back onto the sofa; I wanted to tell her, "but I couldn't, no one, could ever find out."
"I can't tell you Sarah, and please, don't ask."
"What? Kitty, I'm your sister!"
"I know, but please, I just can't tell you who he is. All you need to know is that he is married. So, well there you have it."
"Well, you know Mum's gonna hound you till you tell her," Sarah pointed out something I knew already. Nora Walker did not like to be kept in the Dark.
