My Heart Will Go On (a tribute to the twins)
"George, wake up, we've got to get to Hogsmed." Fred said gently shaking his brother.
"Hmm… what?" George asked groggily rolling over.
"It's time for the final act. We have to get to Hogsmed. C'mon George, get your arse up."
"All right, all right, I'm up."
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on
George Weasley stared at the tombstone before him. The name on it was Fred's. He blinked several times before turning away. He refused to cry in front of his brother,
"Damn it all Fred, you promised you would be okay."
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on
"cough hack cough."
"Fred are you okay?" George asked as he and Fred walked down the passage from the Hog's Head to Hogwarts.
"Don't worry." Fred said coughing again, "I'll be okay."
"You better."
"Yes sir."
Near, far, wherever you are
I belive that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
George's body shook with the sobs. It wasn't fair, he and Fred were too close for one if them to just up and leave the other. George say down unable to look at his brothers head stone, he pulled one leg up to his chest and stared at the sky.
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're one.
"What are you doing?" Fred asked sitting next to George on the roof of their new joke shop/apartment.
"Thinking." George said leaning against him.
"About?"
"How mum's going to react when she finds out we dropped out."
"Can't be any worse than when we told her we were opening the shop."
"Yeah, whose bright idea was it to fake gay any way?"
"Oh c'mon mate," Fred said, "You have to admit it was funny."
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life and will go on
George choked and started trying to control his breathing. He wiped his eyes and pushed himself off the ground. He looked back at the grave once more before heading for the gate; he didn't know how long he had been there, only that it had gotten very late and very dark. . . and very, very cold
Near, far, wherever you are
I belive that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
George unlocked the door to the joke shop and walked in. All the lights were out.
"Surprise!" Fred yelled jumping on him from behind.
"What the. . . Fred!"
"I'm sorry." Fred said letting go of his brother, "Happy sixth month anniversary."
"Has it really been six months since we opened?"
"Hard to belive I know. C'mon, I made dinner."
"And you didn't burn the house down? This is an important day, now, is it edible?"
"Sod off you git."
"Well I love you too."
You're here there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay, forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
George exited the cemetery to see Harry waiting on him, "Hey."
"Hey." Harry said with a soft smile.
"What are you doing here?"
"Waiting on you."
"Why?"
"Nobody should be left alone after something like that." Harry said nodding behind them.
"Thank you, Harry."
"You two were always there for me. I figure this doesn't even make a dent in my debt."
"There isn't a debt, but you're a good friend."
"C'mon, it's freezing."
Fin!
