With news arrived today
A seemingly endless night
I don't spite the change in life
I cross my arms while others pray
Tears run down my face
Not tears of fear
Not tears of anger
Tears of joy in a brighter day
A warm feeling overwhelmed
A feeling over whelmed
As tears of joy stream down my face
With arms unfolded in the light of day
To welcome him to this place
Such a wonderful face
An addition to our race
With uneasy nerves, ill brace myself
For the greater challenge I ever faced
To be a man different than me
To learn alongside him
But not in a race
I breathe into a heavy chest
Keep him safely by my side to protect him while he strides
I stare a blank stare
As I stand unfitted
But I created life
With arms held open under the light
With a change to be arranged
In need of a key to unlock my emotions
Emotions needed to show love
To learn a higher compassion
Now I just ask for one wish granted
Just to have a demand herd
For this cannot be diverted
Understanding will follow
The wish to be granted
I wish, he does not turn out like me
So I'll take this child
Brace him in my arms
Hold him firmly in my hands
Allow him the world
To grow and prosper
In a life UN like mine
