A/N: All you need to know is that I love Cas, I really love Benny, and I ship Megstiel. Where the fuck is Meg?
Benny had moved on to another town. He couldn't bear to leave Louisiana just yet, but he was far enough away from his home town that he didn't endager Elizabeth anymore. She was safe for now. But she knew what he was, if not who he was, and he didn't like that. His kin didn't need to know what he was, it put her in danger.
Dean had told him that Cas found a way out of Purgatory. He could use a hand once in a while and Dean had bigger fish to fry than savin' his ass any time he found trouble. He remembered that Dean prayed to Cas. Maybe it'd work for him.
Castiel. It's Benny. Heard you got out. Good on ya.
He paused, thinking of what to say next.
Look. You don't owe me any favors and I understand if you refuse, but...if you can hear me...could you meet me?
Benny sighed, sure he would be ignored, and rightly so. It was a shot in the dark, but he had to take it. In the world they live in a 'good' vamp needs all the allies he can round up.
He heard a rush of wings and felt a presence next to him.
"Honestly didn't think you'd come."
"You sounded sincere in your prayer," Castiel sat on the chair beside Benny. "You also sounded like you had something to ask me."
Benny bowed his head and smiled a little. "Intuitive angel, ain't you? You're right." He drew a deep breath and exhaled through his nose. "My great granddaughter witnissed me kill a...friend of the Winchesters yesterday. She wasn't completely innocent, o' course, she subdued him before he could cut my head off, but...she knows what I am, if not who I am, and that I killed someone. Even if it was to defend her, to save her life..." He took another shaky breath. "I can't bear that."
Castiel frowned at him. "You wish for me to erase her memory of you."
Benny looked him in the eye. "Only if you can and only if you want to. But I'd be forever greatful."
Castiel looked out the window, thinking. Silence ruled the room for a good ten minutes. Benny just sat there patiently, waiting for an answer.
"You were wrong," Castiel finally said. His voice was very soft, almost on par with Benny's.
"What about?"
"You said I don't owe you any favors." This time it was Castiel whose head was bowed, almost in shame. "You saved my life in Purgatory. And you saved Dean's many times over. I owe you a great deal."
Benny thought for a moment and nodded. "That I did."
Castiel stood and offered his hand. He knew it was a gesture often presented in deals. "I will help you whenever you call, provided it does not clash with my morals. If Dean trusts you then so do I."
Benny stood and accepted the handshake. "Thank you, Cas."
As they let go, Castiel said, "In return for wiping Elizabeth's memory, will you do something for me?"
Without hesitation Benny agreed. "If I can."
"If you happen to meet a demon named Meg...tell her I'm looking for her."
"Will do."
"And...don't tell the Winchesters," he added. He looked a little nervous about it. "They don't need to know."
Benny thought that was a little odd, but he supposed everybody needed their secrets. Cas included. "Sure thing."
Castiel was gone in the blink of an eye and a flutter of wings.
Benny knew Elizabeth was safe as she was gonna get now. His mind could rest a little easier now.
