"Shh . . . Quiet!"

Chase glared at Cameron. "This was your idea!" he whispered, slightly annoyed. Cameron returned his glare.

"Well, excuse me for wanting to know more about our boss!"

". . . Somehow, I don't think breaking into his apartment while he's out is the best way to go about that . . . "

Cameron stopped searching through House's bookshelf and sighed. "Like there is another way . . . "

Chase didn't say anything. He knew she was right. And he didn't want to admit that he was slightly curious himself.

"I'm gonna go check out his medicine cabinet, you look in the kitchen, okay?"

Chase mumbled something unintelligble in reply, and headed to said room. Cameron stepped into the bathroom. She opened the mirror-covered cabinet, and stared at the contents. Nothing all that interesting or new. Lot's of out-dated pain medication and empty Vicodin bottles.

Cameron sighed and checked underneath the sink. Rolls of toilet paper and other such things resided there. That's when a small pink box caught her eye. Cameron pulled it out from under the sink and stared at it.

A half empty box of tampons.

Now this is strange, Cameron thought. "Chase! Does House live with any females? A girlfriend or something?"

A moment later, Chase replied. "Uh, I don't think so, why?"

"Well, what use could he have for tampons?" she asked.

Cameron laughed a little at the awkward choking sound Chase made. She heard him shuffle into the room. He cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Are you sure they aren't old?"

"No, they're not. They just started making this kind," Cameron replied, still studying the box.

Chase cleared his throat again. "That's weird."

"Mmhmm." Cameron dug further underneath the sink, hoping to uncover something as interesting, if not more, as the tampons.

Chase cleared his throat again.

"Are you alright?" Cameron asked as she turned around to look at her companion. Her jaw dropped a little.

House was standing behind Chase, with his cane held up to Chase's neck, almost choking him. Cameron bit her lip and stood up. She noticed that Wilson was standing beside House, a worried expression on his face.

"Oh, hello ducklings. What'cha doing?" House asked.

Cameron paused, seeing if there was a way to lie her way out of this one. She couldn't think of a good lie; one that House would not just see right through. She mumbled out the truth, in a slightly ashamed way.

House took his cane away from Chase's throat and pointed it in the direction of the front door. "Out. Now."

Cameron dejectedly walked towards the door, slowly tailing Chase, who was in a hurry to get out of there. House made sure they left by following them to the door.

Just before he slammed the door in Cameron's face, he said, "And those were Wilson's. He's surprisingly closer to being female than you would think."

And the door slammed, and Cameron found herself with many more questions than she had before.

I wrote this all for that one joke. Heh.
. . . I really like this Cameron . . .
