It's not just the way you understood
And took me seriously when others didn't
But the way you kept me feeling secure
And believed in me when I wasn't sure
We did something brave, but what did we get?
The death of two friends and souls of regret
I cried furiously, didn't want to believe
If only we'd stayed and decided not to leave..
Unwinding the events, it was all my fault
You'd still be here if I hadn't let us dawdle at the lot
