It had been almost ten years since she had seen him last. In fact, she hadn't seen him since they were both very young.

~Flashback~

A rather small boy with bright crimson hair stood alone, face-to-face with another child who looked absolutely horrified at the sight of him. The red-haired boy had in his hands a ball, and was obviously attempting to join the other child in a game, without success.

"N-n-never mind! Y-you can just k-k-keep it!" the sacred boy shouted before running off as quickly as possible in the other direction. Hisa frowned, that didn't seem fair at all. The redhead simply bowed his head and dropped the ball. Hisa, being the kind of person she was, went over to the sad little boy with a smile and said,

"Hey! I'll play ball with you if you want." The boy looked up at her and wiped away tears from his eyes.

"Y-you will?" He asked quietly.

~End Flashback~

She briefly wondered if he would even remember her, that sweet little boy with the bright red hair. Now was the time to find out; she took a deep breath as she entered the Kazekage's office and was surprised to see, not the old man who had been the Kazekage when she'd left but instead…

"Gaara-kun, is that you?" she asked, her voice soft and disbelieving. Upon hearing her voice for the first time in many years Gaara was hardly sure it was her, the little girl who had been his only ally when he was young, but as he turned to look at her now there was no doubt this was Hisa. He would know her soft green eyes and long silver hair anywhere, and no amount of time or distance could ever change it.

"Yes. Welcome back to Suna, Hisa-chan." The young Kazekage replied.
