Minimally sexuals out there making normally sexuals miserable – exR drabble
„Grantaire, would you come over please?"
Coming into their living room, Grantaire saw Enjolras sitting on the floor, laptop on his knees.
„Here I am, what's up, Apollo?"
Enjolras looked up from the screen, his mouth only a tight line.
Grantaire quickly went through everything he could have done wrong in the past five minutes, when Enjolras started to speak: "Am I destroying your confidence?"
Grantaire blinked a few times, processing what his boyfriend had said.
"Well Apollo, I guess this depends on the situation, you can be quite confidence-destroying sometimes, can you elaborate?"
"Am I destroying your confidence by not having sex with you?"
Another few seconds of processing his boyfriend's question, then Grantaire tried to snatch the laptop away from him.
"What did some ten year old on the internet say this time?"
Enjolras, holding the laptop of of Grantaire's reach, had difficulties keeping his voice calm.
"No ten year old, a grown ass man basically said to the world, that asexuals should get themselves another asexual to 'get off the dating market'. Because obviously asexuals and allosexuals can't be in a relationship, except if the asexual, and I quote him on this, 'finds the idea of a normally sexual partner appealing because a normal might be able to help you build your confidence and learn to enjoy sex.', do you find any problems with my confidence, which, according to this person would be the reason for my lack of sexual attraction, because I don't."
Grantaire sighed and sat down next to his partner.
"How do you always get on sites like this..."
"Shall I quote my favourite section?"
Enjolras was fuming by now, so keeping calm was the code.
"If you want to, Apollo. I doubt it's good for your blood pressure, but..."
"I certainly hope you're not another asexual or minimally sexual person who wants a normally sexual partner because you take a perverse pleasure in depriving someone else of sex, constantly rejecting that person's advances, and ultimately destroying their confidence.", Enjolras quoted before Grantaire could even finish his sentence.
"So I repeat my question, am I destroying your, a normal person's confidence by not having sex with you because I am an asexual finding 'a perverse pleasure in depriving someone else of sex'!?"
Grantaire sighed again.
"E, you should stay off the internet... No, you're not destroying my confidence. You're a wonderful boyfriend and I love you so much that I wil now close this website to keep your blood pressure on a normal level."
He reached for the laptop and Enjolras hesitantly allowed him to close the browser.
"Belive me Enjolras, you don't need relationship advice from that guy. You're doing fine at the moment, don't worry."
Enjolras put down the laptop and leaned against his boyfriend's side, head on his shoulder.
"Tell me if you're not okay with something..."
Grantaire put an arm around Enjolras, pulling him closer.
"Hey, did that stupid collumn ruin your mood?"
"Yes! I mean come on, this is just plain stupid!"
"Exactly. And you are not, are you? So why care about his opinion?"
Enjolras was quiet for a moment. Grantaire got up.
"Come on, let's play some Scrabble. You owe me a revanche and maybe it will lift your mood again."
Enjolras' lips curved into a tiny smile and he too got up.
"You are aware that I'll beat you again?"
"Hey, don't destroy my confidence!"
