Love in the shadows

A dark alleyway lay in the town of Bowerstone Old Town which nobody ever dared to enter. From it emerged a shadow with humanoid features. Now they may say that no one since the murder last month has been down here, except one person. She was the most courageous hero in Albion but ever since the loss of her beloved children and husband she had hidden away. Some people believed that may have committed the crime but nobody dared challenged her. She emerged from the shadow and walked the road to Bowerstone market. Blood oozed from her bare feet as she walked upon the stones. She did not care about this pain though. She was use enough to pain to endure it. Ever since the day where she lost her loved ones she had suffered pain. She had been haunted by the memory for years. Her name was Amelia. She walked down the road wondering. What to do with her life. She had eternity ahead of her. She eventually managed to reach the market. Everybody diverted their eyes. She walked to the tavern avoiding eye contact with any of them. "Scum" she whispered to herself. She pushed the door open. She lifted her hood and immediately someone had something to say. "Oh it's poor Amelia. So nice but then her family died, Boohoo" He gestured sarcastically. All his so called mates pretended to rub their eyes and weep and laugh. Amelia looked around the room and within an instant was clasping the throat of the man who had provoked her.

"Take that back!" Shouted Amelia. The man couldn't say anything because of the lack of oxygen. She hurled him at a man still laughing. He was immediately knocked backwards.

"I'll let you love birds be." She chuckled. She turned her back and was walking out when someone through a punch. Surely they must have known this was Albion's greatest Hero. Amelia twisted around and grabbed the hand that was attacking her. She twisted it and punched him in the face sending him flying and smashing the tavern wall. "Pub fight!" Screamed a man. Within thirty seconds of him saying that people were on the floor and the tavern was a wreck. The men were fighting in between themselves and fists flew around the tavern. All of a sudden a gun shot was heard and somebody fell to the floor coughing up blood. Every where you looked there was a gun in everybody's hand. Amelia leapt behind the bar and took cover. The tavern had gone from white to a hint of brain colour. Guns were going off everywhere causing a massacre. Somebody else leapt behind the bar with her.

"You're probably the bravest person alive. Look at his muscles! Everybody fears him! But you took him out in one throw." Commented the person next to her.

"Thanks. To your left!" Shouted Amelia. A drunkard stumbled towards the bar, smashing the beer glass he held loosely in front of Amelia. "Thanks to you too!"

"Sure" She grabbed a master blunderbust from inside her thin coat. Pulling the trigger, she was just about to shoot the man that started this in the first place when another man shot. The bullet flew through the air and went straight into Amelia's head. Blood spilled everywhere as the person next to her stared in horror. After a few seconds had gone by, Amelia was up, blunderbust in hand, shooting at the man who had just shot her. Everyone stared in awe confusion. Wasn't she dead? She had just got shot in the head for god's sake! A man fell to the floor, blood oozing out of his chest. Amelia smiled subtly, ran past the men who lay or stood in the tavern, and retreated. Pulling her hood back up, she ran frantically around bowerstone all the way to the dark castle of Fairfax. She knocked on the towering door, and a butler hurried up. "Why are you here, Amelia?" He pondered. Amelia ran past him.

"Unfinished business."
