Everyone had pretty much forgotten about the flobberworm "incident" by Christmas. So Harry, Ron, and Hermione were able to enjoy the break. They were about the only people staying at Hogwarts, which gave them some time alone. One night before the break was over they were sitting in the Gryffindor Common Room talking about Quidditch.
"This year has been really strange," Ron said.
"That was random," Hermione said, "we've been talking about Quidditch for an hour."
"Randomness is a baked potato," Ron said, leaving Hermione speechless.
"Did you hear that?" asked Harry.
"Hear what?" Ron asked.
"It sounds like a pennywhistle," Hermione told them.
"A what?" Harry and Ron asked in unison.
"A tennypistle. Never mind. Let's go see what it is." They all went to the window and looked outside. On the Quidditch pitch there were thousands of pixies marching to the music from Pirates of the Caribbean. The threesome decided to go outside so they could try to figure out what was going on.
When they got down to the pitch, the pixies had stopped marching. Harry decided to talk to find the leader.
"Take me to your leader," he said to the closest pixie.
"I AM the leader," the pixie said, "call me Bobo."
"Is that short for Boboskewatentaten?"
"Yes. So why do you want to talk to me?"
"We just wanted to know why there are thousands of pixies marching around on the Quidditch pitch in the middle of the night."
"That's easy enough. We are preparing to take over the world. As we speak there are hundreds of ninja pixies sneaking into the castle. ONCE WE RULE THE SCHOOL, WE WILL RULE THE WORLD."
"Sorry to bust your bubble, but that is impossible," Hermione told Bobo.
"And why is it impossible?"
At that point a marching band ran in. The smallest trombone player then answered the question by yelling very loudly, "IT IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE BAND GEEKS SHALL RULE THE WORLD!!!!!!"
"You shan't rule the world without a fight."
Harry, Ron, and Hermione watched as the band geeks and the pixies fought. The band threw water balloons and super balls at the pixies while the pixies used water guns and bubbles. After an hour or two of this, the battle was over. The band won and the smallest trombone player took out a bagpipe and started to play "Amazing Grace". Harry and his friends went back up to the common room in a daze.
"I told you that this year has been strange," Ron said.
