In three words Oliver Wood's world came to halt.
There his life was, walking around, when suddenly- screech- it stopped short. And all the things, memories, that were walking behind his life came flooding in.
Including that night.
And for the three words- they weren't even hard words! One of them was his name.
But what they said, and who said them made it seem like so much more.
The words- in order- were:
"Ollie, I'm pregnant."
And the person who said them?
That person was his wife.
His wife who he had married hours before.
His wife, Katie Bell.
"What?" Oliver asked. His voice was not his, all squeaky.
"I'm pregnant." Katie repeated. Her voice was also small and squeaky.
"Bu- bu- bu- bu- bu-" Oliver kept on repeating, sounding like a fish out of water. Katie's eyes fell to the floor.
"I'm- I'm sorry." She seemed close to tears. Oliver kept on opening and closing his mouth, with nothing to say. Finally, he got his mouth to stay shut. He fingered the gold ring he was wearing on his ring finger, on his left hand.
Katie noticed the movement. She looked up into his eyes, brown meeting green, and got up. Oliver could she that tears had begun to form in her eyes.
"Goodbye, Ollie." She ran out the door. Oliver got up and watched her go, in shock and speechless.
Angelina Weasley and Alicia Spinnet, who were sitting at nearby table, in the bar they were having an after-party at, came over to Oliver.
"What did you do to her?" Angelina asked, hand on her hip.
"M- me? Nothing, I swear!" Oliver defended. Alicia cocked her head.
"Then why was she running from here after she talked to you?" Oliver was acting like a fish again, closing and opening his mouth.
"Because... Because Katie's... Katie' pregnant!" He burst out. The two woman glanced at each other, then gave skeptical looks to Oliver.
"And why wouldn't she tell us?" Alicia inquired. Oliver shrugged.
"Search me. I just want my wife back." It was the sad, sincere look that was on Oliver's face that provoked Angelina to reach out a hand to him and say,
"Then, what are you waiting for? Let's go!"
"Kate," Angelina knocked on the bathroom door for what seemed like the millionth time. "Kate, please come out. Oliver told us everything. We want to talk to you." But she needn't say the last words, for at Oliver's name Katie peeked out.
She sniffed, "And I bet he told you how he hates me for it?" And without waiting for an answer she slammed the door shut.
"Kate," It was Oliver's voice Katie heard through the door this time. "I don't hate you for it. I- I hate me for it. I hate that I let myself make that mistake. I- I hate that I put that burden on you and I hate that I-" He was drowned out by a BANG as Katie flew open the bathroom door and flung herselfat him.
"I love you, Ollie."
"Love you too, Kate"
