Flying High
by: TwilightEmperess
Hermione was in the library. Why that isn't something to worry about it, what she was doing in there that was. She had her head buried in her hands and stifled sobs could be heard in the libraries quiet depths. You see, she had just seen Ron making out with Lavender out side the portrait hole. Lavender had her back against the wall while Ron had here arm ion a good grip. They had both confessed their feelings after Ron broke up with Lavender but it seemed that it was to good to be true/
"I'm not going to let this get to me! I show that bitch who she's messing with' she whispered harshly to herself. Wiping her eyes dry she stood up and marched back to the Gryffindor common room.
Gryffindor common room
"What the bloody hell was that!" screamed Ron. He had been heading to the common room when Lavender had pulled him aside and kissed him. Now she was crying in the middle of the room.
"But Ron, I still love you!" she sobbed out. He just glared at her more before Harry pulled him up into the dormitory.
"You ok mate?" he asked when they finally got there.
"Of course not! 'Mione say the whole thing. I broke up with Lavender so I could go out with her but now she hates me. You say her faceā¦" he finished despairingly.
Harry didn't know what to do. He knew how much Ron and Hermione cared about each other but this just kept getting worse.
"Why don't you just go talk to her? She would understand if you explained everything."
"I doubt she would listen to me."
"Just try!" said Harry encouragingly.
"You think?" Ron's voice was so full of hope Harry just couldn't say no.
"Of course, 'Mione is one of the most understanding people I've ever met!"
"Ok. I'll try to talk to her." Both stood up and headed back to the common room, but on the way down they heard a commotion.
"What do you think their doing down their?" asked Harry
"Don'know mate. Better go check it out hadn't we."
When they made it down the stairs they saw something faint worthy. Hermione, Prefect, Know-it-all, Granger stood above a sobbing Lavender Brown who had a red mark on her cheek.
"Don't you ever touch Ron again or I'll do worse then hit you." said Hermione in a low menacing voice. Then she turned around to face both boys but her eyes were only on Ron.
"Care to explain what happened?" she asked in a false innocent voice. So he did.
"I'm really sorry 'Mione. I was just coming to find you when I say you in here." Ron confessed in a quiet voice. While they had been talking Harry had evacuated the common room.
"I know you were. I just hurt seeing her kissing you. That's all." she sniffled but before she could start crying again Ron had pulled her into a deep kiss. Convincing Hermione just how much he was sorry and how much he loved her.
That night, for there first date, Ron made a picnic and they ate it under the stars by the Great Lake. Before they had to go inside Ron took Hermone for a ride on his broom.
"Is it always like this up here? So calm." she said.
"Ya it is. You feel like a bird flying high."
