Hey guys! This is a little one-shot that suddenly popped into my mind. And I'm afraid that I will need one more week to update my story 'Of Steal And Suspicion', so I decided to upload this. I hope you'll like it :)

Her Hero

Eugene was lying sprawled on an armchair in the library, reading, when he suddenly heard a scream: "EUUGEEENEEEE!"

Recognizing the voice screaming as Rapunzel's, Eugene jumped up from the chair and ran along the hallway to Rapunzel's bedroom, where the noise was coming from. As soon as he reached the door, he opened it as fast as possible and saw the princess of Corona balancing on a shaking chair with a white Pascal on her head squealing because of a – spider. A teeny-tiny spider on the floor.

Eugene couldn't help but laugh.

"Eugene!" Rapunzel cried, half relieved, half annoyed. "What is that?" she asked, pointing to the spider on the floor.

"Well, this is a-" but Eugene was cut off by another scream of Rapunzel because the little arachnid was moving.

"Make it go away, make it go away!" she shouted hysterically, making the chair joggle even more.

Rolling his eyes, Eugene walked closer to the spider to step on it but was stopped by a "Don't kill it!" from Rapunzel.

"What do you want me to do with it?" he asked, slightly annoyed by now.

"Would you take it outside? Please?" Rapunzel begged.

"Fine." Eugene sighed and grabbed the spider carefully, carried it to an opened window and put it down on the ivy outside.

He turned around : "Done."

"Would you close the window, please? Just in case it wants to come inside again?" Rapunzel asked, while slowing getting off her chair.

Eugene closed the window.

"Thank you." Rapunzel put the light-green Pascal on her bed (he was slowly regaining color) and patted him on the head soothing. When Pascal was his usual green again she turned to Eugene:

"What was that?"

Eugene grinned: "That was a spider."

"A spider... Is that an animal?" Rapunzel asked surprised.

"Sure."

"But it has got so many legs! I have never seen an animal with so many legs before!" Rapunzel shuddered at the memory.

"Spiders have four pairs of legs." Eugene explained.

"Four pairs of legs? But why need spiders eight legs?"

Eugene shrugged his shoulders: "I have no idea. It's a special trait of them, I guess."

Rapunzel just made a disgusted face.

Eugene still grinned: "Seems like I was your knight in shining armour then, right?"

Now Rapunzel smiled, too: "You're right. What would I have done without you?"

Eugene's grin got broader: "I guess a little reward would be appropriate?"

Rapunzel stepped closer to him:" I think I know what suitable reward I could give you." And then she closed the gap between the two of them and kissed him passionately.

When they broke apart, Rapunzel smiled, hugged Eugene tightly and whispered :"My hero."
