This is just a short oneshot I thought up while I was watching Scrubs one day. I'm not sure whether I like it or not to be honest-I think it's a bit serious for Scrubs, but I've decided to put it up anyway.

"I know I'm in your head. It took me three years to move in there and I'm not moving out".

The first time he saw her, he'd noticed how pretty she was, but that had soon gone to the back of his mind when he saw how useless she was as a doctor. Too scared to do anything and too proud to ask for help. He smirked for a moment as he realised how she was rather similar to him, but the smirk soon disappeared when he remembered how he insulted her, giving her the name "Barbie" because of her stupidity.

Over time though, she'd become more confident. She was still pretty insecure, but still, the change was remarkable! He still insulted her though, just because it was easy. She hardly ever answered back like Jordan did. He'd thought about dropping the name "Barbie" once or twice, but decided against it, his logic being that she was still beautiful, even if she had become a better doctor.

He'd made up so many excuses to see her, only to insult her. He'd switched shifts, then spent them telling her how she shouldn't have become a doctor at all. He'd spent loads of time with her when Carla was around, using the excuse that he still loved Carla-it was what everyone at the hospital thought anyway, so he didn't mind using that excuse. It was a shame he couldn't believe that excuse himself though.

Now though, he knew he'd missed his chance. He'd seen her face when he insulted her change over the years. At first, she'd been scared. Sometimes there had even been tears! Now though, she just looked indifferent and sometimes, he swore he could see hatred in her eyes, although perhaps he was being paranoid. Someone like her couldn't hate anyone, surely? She used to hang on his every word and respect him. Now, she'd deliberately go against his instructions. She used to be so excited when he offered her a seat at lunch, or when he occasionally offered to help her out. When he'd tried to do that recently, she'd not only appeared bored, but refused his help.

All he wanted was for her to look at him the way she looked at that drippy intern boyfriend of hers, or like she'd looked at Newbie. He laughed quietly. It was ironic how she'd ended up with Keith because he was her booty call, after he'd considered doing that to her when she was an intern. What had been stopping him? Was it really because he thought she was a waste of space, an inadequate doctor who he would miss insulting? Or was it just fear of rejection? He knew she was eager to do well, doing anything to get ahead-again, just like him. He also knew however, that she was too good for him. He couldn't even show her that he liked her. He just insulted her all the time and drove her further away.

He saw her across the corridor. She looked at him briefly, before turning away. She'd acknowledged his presence for once! Perhaps he hadn't pushed her too far away yet. Perhaps he had just one more chance to make her realise that he had these feelings for her.

"Hey Doctor Re…"

Elliot looked up at him, with almost a smile on her face.

"Hey Barbie," he said.

She looked at him coldly and walked away.
