I had awoken only to find myself in darkness. There was nothing, I heard nothing and the only things I could see were the bloody red handcuffs around my wrists, the sorrowful blue shackles circling my ankles, and the spring. For a short time I could not even remember my name, I would just stare up at the ceiling where the spring was, wondering what purpose it served and why am I here. But my questions were answered when a horribly familiar voice spoke to me from the endless shadows.

"Hey sinful boy you'll be here forever!"

Tears sprung into my eyes as I remembered everything then. My name, my sister, my death and my sin. I had murdered the princess from the land of green. I had lured her into the woods where I had killed her, ignoring her plea and her outstretched hand. And I understood, these handcuffs were for the innocent blood I had shed. The shackles for the tears I had surely caused. And the spring up above me now stood for the heaven I could no longer reach.

I had lost all track of time, I could have been in this hell for minutes, days, months or years. I remained there reliving my sins over and over without end. And that same voice shouting at me. "Make this stop!" I had prayed more then once to no avail.

It was during one of the brief moments that were so caring placed between my sins I heard a voice. The voice was so familiar as is sang, it was the voice of the sister the one whose punishment I had taken prior to my death. I closed my eyes as I listened, the song had somehow filled me with warmth I had not felt in so long in this endless void. This lullaby seemed to keep my sins from coming, slowly healing me. Then, one day, I saw something tiny and bright coming down from the spring above me. What is it.... a sign... a message.

Then the spring's surroundings had begun to speak to me. "It's not that your sin is not tolorated." it whispered to me. "We'll try to change those facts."

Suddenly I felt the handcuff far from my wrists. "After this you will be reborn anew."

The shackles then fell from me and I heard a voice say, "Today is you're new birthday."

It was then that I heard my lullaby coming from ahead of me. Without the chains holding me back I ran forward as everything around me was dyed white and I snapped my eyes closed at the sudden change. When I open them again, I see my sister's identical face peer down at me. I heard her giggle and say, "Time to wake up every ones here."

I looked around and I saw the prince from the land of blue and the red mercenary that had captured me in my sister's stead, and the princess from the land of green was there as well. For a moment I thought that all of this was a dream, that I was still trapped in the darkness, but I remembered and I knew that the endless darkness was now the dream. I was stirred from my thoughts as everyone shouted to my sister and I:

"Happy Birthday!"
