Disclaimer: Unfortunately, the Larson family owns RENT. But this story is alllllll mine.
A/N: We have dandelions in our front yard. Only one-shots from now on for me.
First of all, I have to thank you. I narrowly avoided a bike/car collision yesterday, and I know that was your doing. The saving me, I mean, not the collision.
I finally did what you told me to and called my mother back. I'm at home today. There are about a zillion dandelions in the front yard. You would love them. Cindy's daughters taught me how to make dandelion halos. We spent four hours in the yard. My fingers are stained yellow. I'm thinking about making you one, actually, and laying it on the porch. You'll find it if you look. I know you're looking. By the way, the dandelions are the best part of the trip.
I was going to bring Roger with me. That is, until a few days ago...you must know, you have to. Like I said- you're looking. He's...he's not doing so hot. Collins is staying with him. But I'm sure he's already told you. He talks with you all the time. Collins, I mean. Not Roger. And if Roger does talk to you...well...you'd know it. He wrote you a song. Collins is trying to get him to play it, but his fingers are numbing. It's a shame, really.
Mimi's in recovery. She thanks you for it. You're the only reason she's alive, and she's sure of it. She's looking for a new job. I bring her the newspaper once in a while and bring a highlighter, too. So far she's looked into waitressing and typing. I'll have to teach her how to type later.
Speaking of jobs...I had to call Buzzline back. Sundance wouldn't take my film, ha ha. But we're still shipping it around anyway. For some reason, you always enjoyed Buzzline. At least when I was on it. I never knew if it was the stories you liked or just the fact that I was on TV.
And Maureen! Maureen was on TV yesterday, actually. Not another protest, no. But she's been trying out for things at Joanne's request. But I saw her tape. She's not bad, she's not bad. You would get the hugest kick out of it...she tried out for this pilot where she was like...some undercover cop. You would love it, I'm sure. And Joanne- get this. Joanne's her agent. I'm not even kidding you.
Collins is learning how to drum. You'd be so proud of him. I know you are already. You actually probably know everything I'm telling you, but...well, it's helping me get this stuff off of my chest. He's feeling the healthiest of any of us. You're his motivation. He misses you loads. We all do.
I showed my mom the film last night. Even Cindy came and watched. They cried. Course, they're women, and women cry, but still. It was kind of nice. You were their favorite part. We all spent hours talking about you. I think even they miss you, and they never even met you.
I've decided that I'm going to leave you some Stoli with your dandelion halo. Just thought of that.
Benny called me on Monday. He-he payed for your funeral. I don't know if you knew that. But anyway, he misses you too. He told me so. They got a new dog. They named it Lolita. Still rhymes with akita, if you feel like pulling some strings.
The pollen is making me itch. I never knew I was allergic. Maybe I developed it since I left. A lot of things happen in ten years. A lot of things happen in one year.
The pollen is making me sneeze. But don't worry, Angel. You'll get your halo anyway.
