Repercussions

By Mr_Toast

Welcome back friends, this will most likely be a one-shot, not sure yet due to the fact that it might be hard to make multi-chapters… Idk, we'll just see how this first part goes. This story, like all my other story, is set when Simba and Nala are cubs/teens and Mufasa ain't got dead. The reason I write most of my stories this way is so that if I need to mature a character he won't be like 87(Aragorn's age for LOTR nerds) by the end lol. So without further to do let's get into it! Enjoy!

Simba and Nala are best friends, some might even say an unofficial couple. They were always spending time together, running around laughing and playing. Then there were Chumvi and Kula, their second best friends.

Simba, Nala, Chumvi, and Kula were all the same age, Simba being the oldest, and did just about everything together. Unknowingly to them, Simba and Nala were betrothed at birth as were Chumvi and Kula.

"Simba slow down! You'll hurt your heart!" Nala said laughing as she was chasing after Simba. She used to be faster than him when they were really young, just a few months, but now Simba was paws down the faster of the two.

"Yea right! You just want to win" Simba said as he pacing himself faster. The two were currently locked in a deadly dual of tag, where Nala was it and Simba was running away from her. Nala was begging to wear down making Simba the official winner.

This was nothing out of the normal for the two cubs, running around, spending there youth days playing in open fields without stressing or having to worry about anything in the world.

Nala was starting to feel strange around Simba, and she didn't know how to explain it. The other day, she walked in on Simba giving Kula a friendly hug, just a hug, and for some reason, she started to feel jealousy and anger.

Kula was one of Nala's best friends and they never get mad at each other without a reason. In the past week, Nala has easily spent over seventy-two hours alone with Simba, and that's not counting with Kula or Chumvi.

"Simba? Do you like me?" Nala said nervously. She didn't know how relationships went or this feeling of love she had for him, so the question was rather straightforward and blunt.

"Of course, I like all my friends," Simba said playing with a grasshopper, unaware of the situation. Nala just rolled her eyes. Simba might be smart and cute, but he could also be a total idiot at times.

"I meant… Like… Like like… Love?" Nala asked shyly fearing the thought of rejection more than anything. She was friends with Simba, best friends, and didn't want to jeopardize their friendship over it.

"Oh… Well kinda… yea…" Simba said shyly as he had no idea how to respond to that kind of question. He was still a cub and most cubs don't start to feel love until around one year old. Simba and Nala were both nine months old.

"Oh," Nala said as she inched closer to him. Simba might be brave in some instances. But right now he was terrified of what could happen. As if on command, he found himself leaning forward, and soon sharing their first kiss.

That was three months ago. It was Simba's one year birthday, the most important one besides his forth when he will do the king challenges to test his worth to the pride. He was currently sneak up on the den to catch Nala by surprise.

Simba saw that Nala and Sarafina were currently in an argument and decided to tune into it in attempts to later help Nala with whatever she was going through.

"No mom! I'm not even one year old yet! I'm too young! Don't be dumb!" Nala screamed at Sarafina, In an attempt to be able to leave the conversation. If anything, this was more successful at pisser her the hell of than anything else.

"Nala! You will not speak to your mother like that! And what is so wrong with Simba that you can't marry him? He is a fine lion and not to mention you too are inseparable" Sarafina said as she looked behind Nala to see Simba looking at them with a confused face. Sarafina went to speak but Nala cut her off.

"I don't love Simba! In Fact, the only reason I date him is to get him to shut up! He's so damn annoying. He's stupid, fat, lazy, and never takes anything seriously. I'm thinking of breaking up with the fur ball, as a birthday gift! I wouldn't even marry him if the existence of the pride lands depended on it!" Nala yelled, seething in rage.

Sarafina looked in horror at her daughter. She knew all of what she said was a lie, out of pure rage, but she was more worried about Simba. He hadn't moved or done anything since she opened her mouth. Nala didn't see her mom even budge, and just continue to look at the same spot over her shoulder.

Nala finally turned around to see Simba standing behind her, with a stoic face on. Her heart immediately stopped and broke... Everything she said was a lie, she didn't mean it, she was just afraid of marriage.

"No Simba… It's not what it seems like… I only said that because we are betrothed and I'm too young to be married. I love you with all my heart and I can't imagine my life without -" Nala was saying before Simba raised his paw swiftly cutting her off.

Sarafina felt the air thicken at the gesture and knew that her daughter had crossed a series of lines and the consequence would be terrible. She just kept hoping that this wouldn't permanently damage their relationship.

"Whatever 'this' was..." Simba said motioning between this. "Is over… Goodbye Nala…" Simba said coldly before turning away, kicking up a little dust in the process. He was going to act civil in front of his Ex-girlfriend and her mother, but once he was alone, all hell would break loose.

Nala just stood there, Unable to talk, unable to move, shocked at what had just happened. She could hear that Sarafina was walking up behind her and felt her embrace her in a warm motherly hug.

The thing she held most dearest to her heart, the thing she woke up with a smile on her face for, was gone. Nala just felt the endless tears beginning to fall down her face, and not soon after, she was sobbing in her mother's arm.

Sarafina felt terrible for her daughter, having to lose Simba just like that. And what made it even worse was that there was no emotion in his voice, it was just cold and black as if all the light had been drained due to her words.

Nala attempted to break free from her mothers grasp to run after Simba, but it was no use. Her mother was bigger and stronger than her and right now she didn't have the strength in her to lift a pebble.

Nala just felt totally hopelessness engulf her. She knew that she had permanently damaged their relationship and only wanted to run after him to explain herself, but she knew that he would not want to listen to anything she had to say right now.

Simba was walking away from the den going anywhere but back to Nala. He wasn't mad or sad, which was surprising to him. He just felt anger, betrayal, and a new found power of strength and dark power.

He was totally lost… Everything had been a lie… a joke… a scam… the young prince had fallen for it all. Simba wanted to believe her that she was trying to avoid marriage at such a young age, but the other part told him to not believe her, and turn away from her.

"Simba! My main man! Hey bro, Happy birthday!" Chumvi said running up next to him, happy to finally have found him. Simba looked at Chumvi and this caused Chumvi to stop dead in his track. He the darkest, evil, and hurt expression look on his face. He made stoic look happy…

Chumvi knew something was wrong and knew that there was probably nothing he could do to help. "Simba? What's wrong?" Chumvi asked unsure if he should even be talking for the wellbeing of his safety.

"Nothing" Simba said through a heavy and dark voice. Chumvi was horrified at how his friend was acting. This wasn't Simba… this was a monster…

"Simba… What's wrong…?" Chumvi asked putting his paw on his shoulder. Simba turned around and slammed Chumvi down onto the ground by his neck. He didn't know why he was doing this, it just felt right and he didn't care about anyone, not anymore.

"Touch me again, and I'll kill you…" Simba said glaring in his eyes. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of SImba choking Chumvi. Chumvi was horrified and was fearing for his life right now. His best friend was currently choking him threatening to kill him and Chumvi didn't doubt him for a second.

Simba got off of Chumvi and watched him run away. He started to feel guilty for doing what he did and went to go apologize, but something made him stop, and any sympathy he felt for him was quickly threatened by pain and he turned to walk away.

(TLKTLKTLKTLKTLK)

News of what had happened had spread quickly throughout the pride lands. When Nala heard about what had happened, she felt more pain and regret to build up in her chest. She had spent the entire day inside the den, worrying her heart out over Simba, and to hear that he choked his best friend, didn't help at all.

Nala decided that she had waited long enough, and decided to leave to go find him. She wasn't sure if he mother would approve of this, so she waited until she was out of sight before quietly sneaking out of the den.

Upon finding Simba, being at the one place she had a feeling he would be, the place was they met for the very first sight, she was scared and shaking slightly upon approaching him. "Simba?" Nala said sounding weak as her voice was hoarse and quiet.

"What" Simba spat back out, In an insulting manner. He wanted nothing to do with her and just wished he had never had come to this godforsaken place in the first place.

"Simba, I'm so sorry about what I said, it's just that I found out that I was betrothed to you, and that I was going to marry you. I do want to marry you because I love you with all my heart, but I just wanted to wait until I was fully ready, and ask you when the time was right. I'm so sorry, and I will always love you no matter what" Nala said somehow managing not to break down and cry right then and there.

Simba felt guilt return to his body, and whatever darkness he was feeling before, had been completely washed away. He stood up and staring directly into her eyes, starting to slowly approach her.

Nala started to fear what would happen due to his actions from Chumvi. Nala knew that she deserved whatever he had in store for her for hurting him so badly earlier that day, so she just sat there, awaiting her punishment.

Simba stood right in front of her, still glaring a death glare right at her. Nala just looked straight into his eyes, holding her breath. Simba just exhaled and softened his glare before touching his forehead to hers.

Simba knew that if he held a grudge against her, it would only mean that he was the one to blame for all the pain he felt, so decided to let go whatever hatred he had for her. He didn't know why he forgave her so easily, he just knew that it was the right thing to do if he ever wanted another shot at happiness.

"It's ok, I was just scared" Simba replied feeling guilty for his behavior to everyone that day. He knew that being strict with Nala and hurting Chumvi was the wrong thing and was going to try to make up with them.

"Scared about what?" Nala replies. As far as she knew, there wasn't much that Simba was scared of and he never openly admitted his fears.

"That you didn't love me…" Simba said lifting his head and trying away from her, looking around the Savanna he would one day rule.

"I always have, and I always will. Do you think…. that well… you could forgive me and we could return to how things used to be?" Nala said in an unsure voice fearing she might be a little pushy.

Simba just dropped his head and sighed. He knew that answer he had in store for her wasn't going to be good for her, but he just needed time nonetheless. "Not now, but maybe later… I just need… time" he said knowing that she would like his response.

Nalas heart just sunk at upon hearing that. She knew it was the least she deserved for saying all those things, but it just felt like a part of her went missing when he left her.

"Ok… we can still be friends? Right?" Nala asked hoping that he would allow her to still be in contact with him.

"I'm not sure yet," he said. Simba wanted to run back to her and return to the way things used to be, but there was still damage in his heart that he didn't know if it could even be undone.

Nala felt tears building up behind her eyes, but kept them at bay while she was in front of Simba. She was mentally beating herself up for everything she had said. She didn't know why she didn't just tell her mother that she wasn't ready instead of telling her how she hated Simba.

Nala just signed and turned to leave. "Nala… Know that still love you, it's just that I need time…" Simba said. Nala turned around to look at him, but when she did she saw that he had already left.

Nala continued on her way to the den not bothering to try to find him or convince him to change his mind. Nala then got an idea that she didn't know why she didn't think of before. She could go to Rafiki, he was sure to know what to do and how to mend Simba's, broken heart. Nala wasted no time and ran off to where Rafiki's tree was, hoping and praying to the kings above that he would know what to do.

(TLKTLKTLKTLKTLK)

Rafiki was currently meditating in his tree, waiting for a certain someone to show up with a question about the one they love. No one knew how Rafiki was able to tell these things, it was as if he was always watching you, and could read your mind to find out what was bothering you.

He started to grin slightly when he heard the sounds of someone frantically sprinting towards him, knowing exactly who it was and exactly why they were here.

"Rafiki!" Nala said as she clambered up the tree and skidded to a stop. She was panting heavily from sprinting for almost five solid minutes in a row and was struggling to catch her breath.

"Yes?" He asked as if he was no idea why she was here.

"I need help. You see, I said some nasty things about Simba and I thought he hated me. But it turns out that he doesn't and we still love each other but simba wants to spend time apart from me until he feels better. Do you know how I can help him feel better sooner so we can be back together because I truly do love him" Nala said in a jumble pacing around in front of Rafiki?

"He has a broken heart Nala. The only way to fix it, is to make him see exactly how much you love him and care for him, Simple as that" Rafiki said, not even moving or opening his eyes.

"But I do love him, and I told him that I love him will all my heart multiple time, but he still doesn't see yet" Nala said oblivious to what he was referring to.

Rafiki opened his eyes and got down to look Nala in the eyes. "It is one thing to say something, and it is another to do or prove that thing to be true. I can say that I am a lion, but just because I said that I am a lion, doesn't mean I am a lion. Understand?" Rafiki said smiling in her face before swinging back up to the top of his tree.

"Are you trying to say that I'm lying about loving him?" Nala said getting defensive about his claim. Rafiki sighed and rolled his eyes at how she was taking the whole situation.

"I know you love him, what I am saying is prove to him how much you love him and that will fix his heart" Rafiki said hoping that Nala would finally understand.

"So like a date? Because he doesn't want to really get back together or do really anything with me right now…" Nala said. Rafiki just sighed and jumped down in front of her.

"No, you will know what to do when the time comes, because your heart will tell you when the time is right… Now get out! No more questions!"

Rafiki said as he showed Nala out of his tree, resuming his medication.

Nala started to slowly walk back to Pride rock, still thinking over what Rafiki said. She was determined to get Simba back and to have things resume to normal.

(TLKTLKTLKTLKTLK)

Rafiki was in his tree, in deep meditation, praying that Simba would be accepting of Nalas efforts. He feared that he would continue to reject her, and fall into a never-ending abyss of darkness that would change the history of the Pride lands forever… All he could do was hope that it wasn't too late, and Simba would return to his former self.

Damn… Nala done did it this time… anyway sucks to be her. Thanks for reading this and I have absolutely no idea when chapter 2 will be out and I'm thinking of making this three chapters. There's not much to be said here so I hoped you all enjoyed it and see you later.
