On a bench, Midsummers Eve,
Side by side, yet worlds apart,
Sit two young lovers, Will and Eve,
Hoping to soothe their aching heart.
Reflecting back on a year or more
Of excitement, adventure and bliss,
The girl, Lyra, turns her head,
To give the space that is Will one last kiss.
Must look towards another day,
Must 'tell them stories' too.
Meanwhile Will, in his grown-up way,
says "I'll tell stories of me and you."
Must build the Republic as it should be,
And not waste a life in sorrow.
Must make today the best it could be,
For who knows what may happen tommorow?
Reflect on a year gone by,
Let memory go down memory's way.
Remember the past, but look to the future,
There's no day but today.
Side by side, yet worlds apart,
Sit two young lovers, Will and Eve,
Hoping to soothe their aching heart.
