"Why cry when angels deserve to die" System of a Down. Chop Soey.
Angels. To the girls life dimming eyes that was what they where. Angels with unreal fangs and shinning, cold eyes. Matching the weather. Snow, ice that glinted.
A glacial mouth curved upwards. "We are angels." The snow fell silently, hiding the evils.
"Well stuff your halo up your ass."
To the victims' thin grasp on consciousness, the angels flew, ungainly into walls, to lie still, like they had wanted her to lie, in a lump of bones.
A face was hovering above her. A disjointed face, with no anchor. Hazy. Beautifully human in the quiet. The mouth moving soundlessly.
Nothing. There was nothing to think. Just a depressed Hunter who felt the failure like a chop to the windpipe, making breathing impossible. The Hunters gem green eyes shut. Snow fell, making the air dance in deceiving patterns and shapes.
Next time, she'd fight a little harder, faster. Kill them all, hopefully before the victim died.
Now…now to clean up. Or perhaps not. There was a pure shroud of snow, new and clean, covering the lumps of meat, the body's accusing staring eyes. Staring at infinity. Will stare forever. In this weather they'd freeze. A film of ice melted by false spring. The locals would find her body. And the bodies of her attackers. Another statistic in another body bag.
The Hunter stalked through the swirling white, in the dark. If Gods exist, they don't care. They have no power over the grief of humans and vampires. Events spiralling out of control, into infinity.
Must be a fascinating place infinity.
A scream sounded, from an alley. The Hunter flowed quickly to the source. Maybe this time…
