A light breeze runs across the top of Draco's bare hand, and he squeezes his boyfriend's fingers tighter in response to the chill. Autumn has come early this year, but it is not yet cold enough for their customary evening walks to halt. Harry looks over at him in acknowledgement of the gesture and exchanges a loving look before breaking out into giggles.
"What?" Draco tries to sound irritable but fails miserably; Harry's laughter is quite cute.
"You've got a leaf in your hair," Harry manages between chuckles.
At one time this would have disturbed Draco, but he only shrugs now, saying, "So? What are you going to do about it?"
The suggestive nature of his boyfriend's tone hits him and Harry stops laughing; halting in midstride, he pulls the blonde boy close. Draco stumbles, his chest bumping Harry's, and the collision causes the leaf to fall, slipping to a stop in-between their bodies. Both boys look down at the golden red color, brightly visible between two dark colored jackets. "It's beautiful," Harry breathes.
Draco looks up at the dark haired boy, a rush of affection filling him. "Not as beautiful as you."
Harry meets his gaze, and Draco doesn't need words to know what his lover is thinking, and doesn't want them. As Harry opens his mouth to speak, Draco closes the space between them in a heartbeat, cutting off the other boy's words before they could start. The kiss is chaste, yet passionate, and nether boy wants to be the one to pull away first, but at last Draco does, obtaining a low growl from Harry.
"I'll make it up to you when we get home," Draco promises, whispering into the other boy's ear.
Harry pulls away suddenly, and then takes off running, his words trailing behind him on a path of golden leaves. "Last one home bottoms!"
Draco sighs, shaking his head slightly, half in exasperation and half in affection. "Bloody hell Harry, I can't believe you shouted that in public," he murmurs to himself as he takes off after his lover.
