The bass boomed in the chests of the four vault hunters as they sat around in Moxxi's after a brief mission. They were relaxing, drinking, just hanging out really.
"Hey," Axton started, "what do you guys think Zer0 is? As in like, is he some kinda cyborg what?"
"He's totally an alien," Salvador started but was cut off by Gaige,
"What? No way. Definitely a robot."
"Oh come on, he's gotta be a cyborg!" Axton interjected and the two others scoffed.
"Robot"
"Alien" Gaige and Sally's voices combined and they turned to each other, shouting their belief.
Axton decided to intervene when Salvador began screaming obscenities about Gaige's mother in another language, and slams his hands down in front of the group, startling Maya, who was resting her head on the table and nursing her growing headache, and getting the attention of the bickering vault hunters.
"I'll bet you guys 10,000 that he's a cyborg."
"Fine, but when I'm right and you're paying me I don't wanna hear you guys bitching and saying it was only 1,000. Got that?" Gaige snarked to the two and Salvador snarked back.
"sounds good, pendejo, but when I win I don't wanna hear you whine!"
Axon smiled, "Great! You in Maya?"
The siren laughed and shook her head. "No thanks. I don't really care enough to place a bet."
"Sure, but for the record, who do you think is right?" Axton goaded and she just shrugged in response. The three groaned and Maya chuckled.
A few months had passed since the band of idiots placed the bet and had been badgering the Assassin ever since. Zer0 was good at brushing them off, giving sarcastic responses and sometimes shrugging and flashing a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on his visor, however today he had all three bugging him at once and decided to just tell them so they would shut up about it. They took down Jack and had been working together for a couple years now, he trusts them and figures that is they were gonna kill or betray him they would've done it by now. They were also giving him a massive headache and he was done with their shit.
"ALRIGHT!" he snapped and the three shut up. Zer0 entered the place they took over in Sanctuary shortly after it was teleported into the sky. The previous tenant had been, well, exploded by the mortar assault and although cozy, the Crimson Raider's HQ was getting kinda crowded.
He ushered them inside and closed the door, then removed his helmet.
"I'm a robot." he spoke simply and bluntly, then snapped the helmet back on before they could get a good look at his face.
"YES!" Gaige shouted and jumped up, turning to Axton and Sally, "Pay up, bitches!"
The men groaned and began pulling out the cash while Gaige laughed.
Zer0 flashed a ? on the visor, "Why are you not shocked? I expected slack-jawed stares, not taunting and cash."
Maya responded for them, "They placed a bet a couple of months back. Axton was convinced you were a cyborg-" "A SUPER COOL ONE!" Maya coughed to disguise her laugh, "and Salvador thought you were an alien."
"We're all alien, we are not from Pandora, minus Salvador." Zer0 responded and Salvador groaned loudly.
"Damnit. I didn't think of that." He looked over to Gaige who was now, quote on quote, "Making it rain", over her and Maya, who was laughing at her dork friend.
"Yeah baby! I know a robot when I see one!" Gaige winked at Zer0 and laughed hysterically, rubbing it in further to the two who lost.
