Another request from tate310, this time it's "Thomas and the Jet Engine" from Season 6. Enjoy and comment.
Gordon is a very proud steam engine. He's the fastest engine on Sodor, speeding along his branch line, with the wind blowing across his funnel.
"Another world record!" said his driver.
"I'm the fastest!" boasted Gordon.
But none of the other engines were impressed.
"Speed isn't everything!" said James.
"But being on-time is what's important!" said Thomas.
"You slow engines will never understand!" snorted Gordon, "because you'll never go as fast as me!"
Later, Sir Topham Hatt arrived with news about a special for Thomas.
"I want you to collect a jet engine, and take it to the airfield,"
"What's a jet engine?" asked Percy curiously.
"A jet engine goes forward by pushing hot air out of it's back." Sir Topham Hatt explained.
"Just like blowing up a balloon and letting it go!" added Thomas. "It's very fast."
Thomas loved doing special runs for Sir Topham Hatt. It makes him feel special, but he wished he could go faster than Gordon. He arrived at the docks and was excited to see the shiny jet engine that Cranky was bringing down. He was taking his time, making Thomas cross.
"Hurry up!" puffed Thomas. "This is a special special!"
Cranky didn't like being told what to do, especially by an engine. He became so cranky, that his hook turned on the jet engine!
"Oh, oh!" said Cranky. Before he knew it, the jet engine was moving Thomas up the track at warp speed!
"WHOAAAAA!" cried Thomas.
The driver tried to apply the brakes, but Thomas couldn't stop!
"WHOAAAAA!"
The passengers were shocked, and the stationmaster called for help!
"Clear the lines! It's a runaway train!"
Signals were changed, and points were switched.
Thomas had never felt so excited!
James was waiting at Maron Station, waiting for the passengers to board the coaches. He decided to take a quick nap, when Thomas suddenly flew by him! His boiler started to shake.
"Whoa!" he exclaimed "What was that?"
When Henry saw Thomas flying by, he was shocked.
"Just wait until Gordon sees you!"
Next, he raced by Percy!
"Wow!" he called out.
Bertie was excited when he saw Thomas.
"Want to race?" beeped Bertie.
But Thomas flew right by him.
"Guess I win then!"
Nobody had ever seen an engine go so fast.
But Gordon had no idea that Thomas was racing along the main line!
"I am the fastest!" said Gordon proudly.
"Hi Gordon! Bye Gordon!"
Gordon could not believe what he'd just seen!
But at last, the jet engine ran out of fuel, and Thomas was back under his own power.
Later, he steamed back into Knapford Station.
"Sorry for overtaking you there Gordon!" teased Thomas.
"I didn't even notice!" Gordon huffed.
"You didn't realize the fastest engine on Sodor!" said Henry.
"Yes, I am the fastest!" puffed Thomas.
Percy felt sorry for Gordon.
"Gordon doesn't need to go as fast as a jet engine to be the best. He's a steam engine."
"But he's still full of hot air!" whistled James.
Gordon wheeshed crossly away.
