Okay well, this stupid little idea popped into my head just now while I was working on my other story.

So That's Why

"Sesshomaru! Come here!" the great Inutaisho called. He had a surprise for his son.

"Coming father!" he heard his son shout from another room. Footsteps came closer and soon the beautiful white-haired demon came into view. "What is it?"

Although he was still young, Sesshomaru should have been mated by now and getting ready to have pups. However, he was single. Inutaisho was determined to change that. "I have someone I would like you to meet."

Sure enough, a girl around Sesshomaru's age was sitting down. She had midnight black hair and sparkling green eyes. Even Sesshomaru had to admit she was gorgeous but he wasn't interested.

"And who is this?" he sighed.

"This is Minikui. She is the Southern lord's daughter."

"Hello," she said and smiled shyly.

"Why are you doing this?" Sesshomaru whispered to his father angrily. He certainly didn't need someone choosing a mate for him.

"Because I want pups!" he whispered back harshly. "Now go talk to her!" Then speaking up he said, "I think I'll leave you two alone for a while." He winked and left. Sesshomaru wanted to punch him but (luckily for both of them) refrained from doing so.

He turned to the girl sitting before him and sighed. How could he do this in the least awkward way? There really was no point in being an asshole to this stranger, it wasn't her fault his father was being a dickhead.

"Your name is Minikui right?" he asked.

"Yes."

"Oh, well uh, Minikui here's how it is. I guess my father wanted us to get to know each other so we could mate and everything but the thing is…"

"I get it," she suddenly spoke.

"What?"

"Your father is clearly forcing you to find someone. So is mine. He kind of made me come here. I mean you're cute and all but…I don't want to settle down just yet."

Sesshomaru was relieved. At least she understood what it was like to have a crazy father. "Oh, really? I feel better then."

She smiled. "Well then, I'm going to go back to the Southern lands."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye, Sesshomaru."

The guards her father had sent to escort her were waiting outside. She left with them.

Sesshomaru was happy he didn't have to deal with that anymore. He went back to his room. Too bad his father didn't share the same feelings. As soon as he saw Minikui leaving, he made his way to Sesshomaru's room. He had only left them alone for five minutes! His son would not stay single.

"Sesshomaru! What was the meaning of that?" Inutaisho yelled when he opened the door.

"I don't know what you are talking about," he replied calmly.

"Grr, yes you do! Why are you so stubborn when it comes to finding a mate?"

"Why do you insist on forcing me to find some wench?"

"No son of mine will stay single! Now, I know the Eastern lord's daughter…"

Sesshomaru lost his cool. "Stop trying to set me up with girls, father!"

"Why?!"

"Because I like men dammit!"

Both males were silent for a few moments.

"…Oh," Inutaisho said quietly. "Well in that case, the Northern lord's son-"

"Ugh!" Sesshomaru yelled and left the room.
