Right, so this idea came to me after getting the song stuck in my head, and thinking about Doctor/River. The song is "Love the Way You Lie" by Rihanna & Eminem. I'm only using part of it though.
I own nothing - everything goes to it's respective owners.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn
He watches her, burning with fury as she glares at him, blood trickling down her cheek. After that particular adventure, she was fed up with him. She was tired, so tired, of everything he had done. She wanted to watch him suffer, she wanted to watch him hurt. She wanted to watch him burn. She tried to communicate that through her glare, but he just stood there, and infuriatingly calm expression on his face. As if he didn't care. Then she realized that he might not care.
She burned, with anger, pain, and grief. He simply watched.
But that's alright because I like the way it hurts
He hurt her, so bad, on a daily basis. She loved him so, so much - she'd give her life for him, even - and each time he saw her, she got less and less and less. He barely knew who she was now, and when he had looked at her in the TARDIS, his eyes contained so much hatred and loathing towards her, so much mistrust. Distaste. He hated her, she was sure.
It broke her heart.
Strangely enough, she found that she liked it. She wouldn't have their relationship any other way, even if it hurt her. She lived for the moments with him, even if it burned her, hurt her, ripped her apart. She liked the way it hurt. It felt good, in some strange, sick way.
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry
A choked sob escaped her throat as she looked at him, tears streaming down her face as she regarded this man, this impossible man. His eyes held so little recognition, it tore her heart, even fracturing her soul. She had told him she loved him, and he had given her a blank look, saying nothing. The feeling wasn't mutual.
She cried, the tears falling down her cheeks. He watched her, staying away as her grief overcame her.
But that's alright because I love the way you lie
"Will you come back for me?"
"Of course."
He was lying, she was sure. He never came back, he never stayed, and he lies. She was certain that he wouldn't come back for her - at least not anytime soon. He wouldn't stay with her, either - why would he? Most of all, he lied to her. She was certain that he would continue to lie to her as long as she knew him. She didn't care, though. Let him lie. Let him hurt her. Let him do what he wished. She would love him regardless.
River Song loved everything about the Doctor, and their relationship. She just hoped he felt the same about her.
Right, so, as I look back over this, I realize that it's complete rubbish, but I'm going to publish it anyway. So, drop me a review, eh? Let me know just how rubbish it is! Thanks :)
