This is a short one shot set while Cloud is still a 3rd Class SOLDIER in Serendipity but he has started his relationship with Genesis.

Cloud stood next to Genesis enjoying the ice cream the man had bought him. Ice cream wasn't the kind of thing you really enjoyed in Nibelhiem. Hot cocoa was higher on the list. Midgar however was much warmer then Nibelhiem and so now Cloud was enjoying ice cream for the first time in his life.

Right now they were sitting on top of the Shinra building. Usually when Genesis came here it was with Sephiroth and Angeal, but this time he just want to get away a little bit with Cloud.

"At least you can still see the sun." Cloud said looking up at the sky.

"Hmm?" Genesis said not understanding where Cloud's mind was going.

"The sun," Cloud pointed to the sky. "I miss the stars."

"Oh," Genesis said in comprehension, before turning his gaze to the sky. It had been so long since he came to Midgar that he almost forgot what the night sky was suppose to look like. When he was out on missions he didn't get a chance to lay back and stargaze like he had done in his family's orchard. "I miss them too." Genesis said, not even realizing it until Cloud has said something.

"What do you even think the stars are? How far away are they? Do you think if we had wings we could visit them? Is that where the birds go?" Cloud asked his questions and for a moment Genesis thought his blonde had been spending too much time around Zack.

"Hmm, I remember Hollander going on about the stars once. He said they were far away in 'space'. Supposedly they are giant balls of explosive gas." Genesis informed Cloud.

"That's just silly." Cloud laughed. "There so tiny, and so beautiful. I don't think explosive gas could be beautiful."

"I don't know, it's just what Hollander told me." Genesis said with a shrug.

"Well I want to visit them one day. Then we can find out for sure, and show Hollander how silly he is." Cloud said looking back up at the sky.

"Then, I'll find away to take you to space with me." Genesis leaned in to whisper in Cloud's ear.

Cloud blushed a bit but smiled anyway." My friend, do you fly away now?, To a world that abhors you and I?" Cloud quoted.

Genesis smiled "One day Cloud I promise I'll fly you to the stars."
