A/N: Just a little idea that I got from my head. Hope you like it!

The sun shined brightly as millionaire Bruce Wayne stood in front of the graves of two people he loved the most. He looked up at the sun with his sunglasses. He frowned. Out of all the days that it had to be sunny, it had to be on the anniversary that his parents were killed. The sun seemed to have no sympathy as it shined down with brilliance on the hallowed ground of the dead.

Oh the irony. He kneeled in front of the graves and ran his hands through his hair.

"Mom, Dad. I know it's been, what twenty years since that night…" He cleared his throat that was thick with tears, "And I gotta tell you, it's still hard to think about it. And I know that I promised you that I would dedicate my life to bringing justice to Gotham City, but things changed…" He wiped away the debris on the gravestones,

"See, I met this girl…her name's Selina Kyle, and we've been together for a couple of years now. She knows my secret and I know hers and the funny thing is…that she doesn't care! She understands me! I'm gonna ask her to marry me tonight. And we're goin' to start a whole new life together. We're goin' to raise a family. I know I've always said that I didn't want kids, but that's the weird thing about Selina…she makes me wanna have kids! We're gonna leave this all behind. No more Gotham City, no more worrying about anything. No more Batman…" Bruce paused and swore as if he could see them frown,

"I can't do that anymore…I've grown weary of having to hide behind the mask of Batman. I can't be two men anymore. I can't be Bruce Wayne by day and The Dark Knight by nightfall. I-I-I'm not that strong anymore!" He felt the burning in the corners of the eyes. "I-I was never that strong…that's why I lost you two." He wiped away the tears and stood up,

"Selina and I are moving to New York. So, that means I won't be able to visit you anymore. I just can't let myself think that you're really gone. It's still hard to believe after all this time. It feels like when I turn around you two are going to be there smiling at me."

"Bruce?" He turned around to see a woman standing there dressed respectfully in black.

"Selina…"

"Come on sweetheart. The flight is in three hours and you know how bad security lines are at the airport."

"Hold on give me a sec." He opened up his coat and pulled out two roses. He carefully leaned down and placed the two roses on each of the graves. He kissed the two graves.

"Bye Mom. Bye Dad." He whispered. He glanced back one more times at the place he knew and spent endless amounts of time. He walked towards Selina who gave him an encouraging smile and held out her hand. He smiled back and took her hand. They both got in the limo and drove away. Inside himself, Bruce felt a dark cloud cast over his heart.

But the sun still shined.
