Hope, Faith & Joy Prologue
"Congratulations, Dr. Spiller. You're a proud father of triplets!" The midwife smiled then left the relatives room where Patrick was. He couldn't believe it. Triplets. Three kids. Hs three kids. No. No way could he do this. No. No. He had to get away. Away. Far, far away from everything. From his three kids. From his girlfriend. Far away from everything.
"Gone? What do you mean he's gone?" Lara asked worriedly.
"He just went. He left this note for you." The midwife give her a small piece of paper, smiles sympathetically, then left Lara on her own.
Lara opened the note and stares at it. On it was the one word she didn't want to see or hear. The one word that now meant nothing.
'Sorry xxx'
Anger welled up inside her and she ripped the note up, throwing the pieces everywhere.
"He left me" She whispered to herself, "I thought he loved me. No. He didn't care about me or his kids. I'm on my own now. With three kids. All on my own. What am I meant to do?" Tears trickled down her cheeks.
She couldn't believe Patrick would do this to her. She wouldn't believe it. Unbelievable.
The midwife re-entered the room carrying three small bundles. Three children. Her three daughters. He handed them to Lara and smiled before leaving her on here own again.
Lara looked at her daughters. "Isn't daddy silly leaving me on my own with you lot eh? Idiot. But I'm here for you and I always will be...even if daddy isn't here. I will be always and forever."
She paused as another midwife entered her room checking her OBs, smiling at Lara.
"They're beautiful" She nodded at the babies is Lara's arms.
"Yeah they are..."
The midwife smiled again and then left her.
"Now then...what shall I call you?" She smiled weakly down at her three girls in her arms, thinking what to name her children." I know... Hope, Faith and Joy."
