It was over a week since the letter had arrived but it still sat unopened on Andy's kitchen table. He knew he couldn't ignore it forever and that he was only delaying the inevitable but somehow he hadn't yet summoned up the courage to rip open the envelope.

Of course, he knew what was the letter was but it was what it meant that bothered him.

It meant Gwen Cooper was getting married. It meant that she was finally going to walk down the aisle with that overweight lorry driver of hers and that would be the end of it.

And she'd invited him, Andy Davison, former colleague, to the wedding.

That was nice.

"Why don't you come to the wedding Andy? Why don't you come to see the woman you love marry some bloke who doesn't deserve her?"

"I'd rather not if you don't mind."

Which is why the invitation still sat unopened on the kitchen table over a week after it had arrived.

I'll tell her I've got to work. I'll tell her... that I had to work overtime...I'll tell her that she's the best thing that's ever happened to me, that I loved her from the second I saw her...that she should marry me instead of Rhys...

Yeah, and pigs might fly. Or aliens might come down from the sky and invade Cardiff.

Dream on Andy.
