Ed sat down in front the shady man. The smell of flames was in the air.
"Ed, can you smell the ashes of the old world?"
Ed stared with a blank look on his face. He looked over. "Who's she?"
"You don't recognize her? She's you're mother Ed. Or at least she was!"
He let out a crackling laugh.
"Ed…"
He looked closer at the man.
"Who… What are you?"
"I am you're fear, Ed. Do you think… You can conquer you're fear?"
"I'm not afraid of you." Ed coughed, seeming to be uninterested. "This all just a bad dream. In a second, I'll…"
"Nightmare." Muttered the strange man.
"What do you…?"
"The correct term is nightmare, not bad dream, and sadly, you are correct. It will be over soon. He ran a coin through his fingers. Do you want to see you're worst nightmare is, Ed? The thing you fear the most in this world?"
"What's that?"
Suddenly a giant pint of milk rose from the ground.
"NO! NOT MILK!"
Ed woke up sweating. He took a breath of air, and spent the rest of the night sweating and awake in fright.
The End
