The young boy stumbled on, desperate to get out of harm's way as the shock of his blonde hair fell over his eyes, nearly making him trip. Swerving around a corner, he doubled down the corner of Fourth and Third Street, passing cars as he tried to get rid of the unseen force only visible to his eyes. They called him crazy. Told him that he just had a mild case of schizophrenia, that if they kept him long enough in their indo-halls with padded rooms-that he could recover. He almost believed them, had the thing not returned a week later, haunting him. He managed to escape the asylum, but unfortunately, not the creature, which was where he was at now.

Shaking his head to clear his mind, he raced passed a grocery store and through the piled-up traffic until he reached the park. Earlier, he had received an unknown letter telling him that all his troubles would be gone if he just met up with this guy at the park. At the time, he figured it was a trap, and with the beast spiraling overhead, he almost believed it himself. There'd be nobody for him, nobody to come and free his 'worries' as the letter had mentioned. No, for the creature was swooping in closer, and the closer it got, the faster his heart-rate sped up. Never trust strangers, the boy thought bitterly. To be certain-never trust anyone in general.

Taking a step back, he grabbed the closest weapon he had around himself, a medium-sized branch, and began to swing it around, dodging the large thing. Cursing to himself, he staggered back, suddenly taken off guard when he realized the beast had something in its claws, dropping it to the ground in front of him. It screeched once and the boy took a hesitant look towards the object. No-not an object, but a person. It was a young girl, not much older than himself. He was sure she was dead…there wasn't much left of her. He whirled back; feeling disgusted and then glanced up at the creature again.

"Hylas!" The beast hissed, flapping it's large, translucent bony wings. "You are next!" As the beast screeched, towering above him, the boy had no time to react as he was once caught in the creature's grasp. He yelped in surprise as he was suddenly carried away from the remains of the girl and then dropped from in the air to the start of his death.
