Author's Notes: Just a little bit of silliness, inspired by a picture of a sign containing the phrase "Yoga Pirates," found on the Engrish website.
"And breathe out. Relax. Well done, everyone."
The pirates gathered on the deck of the Flying Dutchman groaned in relief and began untwisting themselves from the awkward positions they were in. Each of them was seated on his - or her - own burlap sack laid out flat on the deck, and they had all stripped to single layers of clothing for the duration of this strange exercise. A large, untidy pile of coats, boots, hats, and assorted weapons lay just inside the entrance to Captain Will Turner's cabin.
The order to relax had come from none other than Calypso, Goddess of the Sea. She had been the one who had arranged this rendezvous between the Flying Dutchman and the Empress, which lay at anchor alongside the Dutchman, and who had invited the captains and crews of both ships to engage in this bizarre form of recreation she referred to as "yoga." Will Turner had noticed a distasteful look on the face of Elizabeth's first mate, Tai Huang, when Calypso had announced what they were all going to do that afternoon.
Will got up and helped Elizabeth, who was still carrying their child, to her feet. In place of a thank-you, she kissed him softly, and he returned it. Then he took her aside, away from the pirates who were queueing up to collect their belongings from the pile.
"How do you feel?" he asked her.
"Better than I have been lately," she said. "And you?"
"Wonderful," he said, smiling at her.
"How did you like yoga?"
Will became a bit more serious. "I'm telling you this in confidence," he said. "I don't believe this exercise had any bearing at all on my abilities as Captain of the Flying Dutchman. I think Calypso just wanted to see us all looking foolish."
"I heard that, William Turner!" said Calypso, pinching his shoulder firmly, but affectionately. She had appeared silently behind Will, as she so often did. "De truth is, this was for the benefit an' wellbeing of your child."
"It was?" said Elizabeth, a little surprised. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," said Calypso. She started walking away from them, then turned and added, "But it was amusing watching all of you trying to get into those poses."
Elizabeth laughed a little. Will sighed. It was going to be a long ten years.
