AN:) This is a poem I wrote for my Creative Writing class. The assignment was to write about someone's existence and well, I chose Anne because she has been my idol since middle school. This was my first time writing poetry, so please be brutally honest :)

Anne Boleyn: Chronology

As invaluable as your legendary choker,

You were the gold "B" surrounded by pearls.

The most important family player,

The embodiment of family ambition.

Part 1-The Daughter of Thomas Boleyn

Born to rise above your siblings,

Mary had the beauty,

George was born the right sex,

Your intelligence surpassed their luck.

Sent to France by your Father

To become the perfect courtier.

Born with dark hair and brown eyes

People doubted your beauty.

Your regal conduct,

You entertained them well;

The songs you wrote,

The poems you recited

Made you the talk of the court.

Returned to England

To witness your sister's fortune:

The second most important woman in the kingdom.

Sibling rivalry erupted.

Soon he bored,

She was discarded.

Part 2- The Hunt.

Praised for your wit,

Your enticing dark eyes

It didn't take much to win the King's heart.

His marriage was already over,

Queen Catherine of Aragon undesirable;

He chased you,

Flirted in front of his wife.

Wrote you love letters,

However, you were unmoved.

"Your Queen I cannot be"

You replied to his advances.

"And your lover I will not be"

For fear of sharing your sister's fate.

You said no, to whom everyone says yes,

Your virtue denied you from sharing his bed.

He raised you from commoner to Marquess of Pembroke,

And from Marquess to queen.

Part 3-New Bride, New Queen!

It was easy to awake his desire,

Used your mind to keep the hold on him.

With caution preached your thoughts,

In order to bring England to a new direction:

A new religion was born out of his lust.

Six years passed,

The start of June,

Your coronation is near.

The title is as heavy as the crown.

The baby in your belly is growing,

A prince is expected from you

Your future rests on the fetus' gender.

Seasons changed.

You didn't keep your promise

After a useless princess,

And one son born dead,

You lost your place.

Part 4- Trial and Execution

Guilty before even the trial began,

You walked in, your head held high.

The jurors didn't rise to their queen,

Instead they called you an incestuous whore,

Of spoiling his royal bed with your lovers.

An executioner was ordered from France.

From your tower, you saw your brother

And other friends

Die for your sake.

In the morning

The leaves fell freely

As the tears of the people.

Your pedestal turned to a scaffold.

They surrounded you at your feet,

Showing new found compassion

To their almost dead queen.

On May 19, you knelt in front of the sword,

Said your prayers,

Commended your soul to God.

One stroke on your neck,

You were gone.

He won't remember you;

Your paintings were removed from the walls.

His new bride waiting to replace you.

You broke his heart,

He took your head.

They didn't give you a queen's burial,

Not even a headstone to mark your grave.

They tossed your soul into the abyss.

Part 5-Life After Death

My dear queen,

Is that you haunting your home?

Or are you Tower's Lady in White?

Are you aware that your Howard cousin,

The fifth bride,

Was executed on the same place?

Your blood spilled in the block again.

Her bones mistaken for yours,

You rest under her name.

Adieu Queen,

Don't cross the veil yet.

Go haunt Hever,

With your chariot from Hell.
