The Ring
He still wears his ring.
He gets irritated if you call her "his wife" without the proper prefix attached to it yet he still lets the jewel ornament his finger.
You know why even without asking; not because he's too used to it, because it hides the slice of pale skin.
You know it isn't just coincidence that he gestures with his left hand instead of his right whilst talking to you. Waves it like a warning sign. He wants you to keep away, so that he wouldn't have to admit that he wants you.
He wears it for protection.
