Chapter 1: So It Begins
When it comes to life, sixteen year olds aren't really very challenged by it. True, there is puberty, school, and different social problems, but these problems are not exactly an unstoppable labyrinth. No, the life of a sixteen year old is not challenging or hard in these modern times.
At least, it should be.
That doesn't apply to me. Somehow it never applies to me. Not anymore.
My name is Lyana Rodriguez. I'm sixteen years old and an odd kid. I never cared about anything most kids my age cared about. While my classmates were talking about Facebook and Twitter, I was reading The Odyssey. While the rest of the girls were on about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, I was listening to Tchaikovsky and Gershwin. While many of my peers talked about pop culture, I avidly talked about politics, history, and, sometimes, my favorite anime.
Yeah, okay, I'm not the only one that does those things, but I haven't finished yet. I'm also quite violent at times. Sometimes I get urges to pretend to punch someone in the face. Sometimes some idiot at school gets me so mad that I smile like the Cheshire cat while imagining five hundred different ways to get them after school. Thankfully I'm a lot better than before.
But not even my violent, psycho side that is similar to a certain favorite character of mine is the oddest thing about me. That, my dear reader, is what this story is about. The story of how I went from becoming "She seems a bit strange" to "0.0".
