Avi Beck by TNT Fiction

Chapter One: "Tomorrow Starts Today"

Dear Avi,

Life can change in a moment, ours did.

A cyclone came in and took everything from you, or so you thought.

•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•·•

As a twelve year old boy, Avi Beck had thought that his world was set. He woke up to his mother making him breakfast, shit talk with his older brother while getting ready for school, go to school and hang with his mates before going home and gaming with his brother until dinner. This was until, that wasn't his normal and everything that he had known disappeared. It had began slowly, first then their wasn't enough money to buy take away and his cooked breakfast became home-brand cereal or new clothes then his parents started staying home more, there was no trips to the mall or skatepark. It only got worse however, when his parents cars 'disappeared'. It was the day that they disappeared that Avi fully realised that what was going on was bad. He just didn't know how to stop it or help it. Things stayed like this for a couple of weeks then the truck came and everything he owned was piled into cardboard boxes and a confused pre-teen was forced out of his home of twelve years into the back of their aunts car. Never to see this house again.

His pre-teen life would end with his family moving into two small bedrooms at their aunts.

Forced to share a bedroom with his a fifteen year old brother, in a room that looked to be just a marginal bit bigger than the ensuite bathroom that his parents had in their now former house. A room that barely fitted the double bed that his Aunt and Uncle had forced into the bedroom for them to use. As he sat there, wondering how everything in his life had gone down hill with his older brother's arm wrapped around him in a half hug. The pre-teen felt a few tears escape his eyes.

"I-It will be okay…" Jonah attempted, pulling Avi close and letting the younger boy wet his tee with the escaped tees.

Hiccuping, Avi pouted. "No it won't… we lost everything…"

"No." Jonah replied a little forcefully, while pulling his little brother around so he was looking a confused Avi directly in the eyes. "We didn't lose everything, we are still together and we have somewhere. We will overcome this…"

"How c-can you be so sure?" Avi pushed.

"I might not fully understand bankruptcy but I know us four are still together as one family. Mom and Dad will work something out, okay?" Jonah tried, the fifteen year old not believing it but knowing that he had to keep Avi's hopes up.

"If you say so…" Avi replied, sighing and knowing that his brother's words were basically lip service to make him feel better.

"I promise Avi… it will all be okay…" Jonah whispered, giving his little brother a hug while whispering very softly. "eventually…"

The twelve year old heard his brother's words but attempt to ignore them and instead softened into the cuddle of his normally annoying older brother. Despite numerous arguments over things that they now had no access to, Avi at least knew that when it came to it, his brother would be there for him. Avi stayed in his brother's arms for a few moments, resting his head up against his older brother's chest, feeling Jonah's chest rise and fall from his breathing before moving to get more comfortable with his head on his brother's shoulder.

Avi eventually whispered a 'thanks' when he had calmed down a little and relaxed thanks to his brother's cuddle.

It wasn't the lengthiest cuddle but it worked it's magic and the Beck brother's slowly began working to try and make their new bedroom look homely enough to be comfortable for them. They didn't have a lot of items to do this but they managed to work out a room layout that they were happy with. Leftover boxes full of their clothes that were too small to fit in the shared closet space, stacked in a corner of the room and with a set of drawers next to them which held their dock for phones and Jonah's iPad, which would be doubling as their television for a long while. Jonah had offered it to his parents to help with money but was sent back to his room with it after a small soft kiss on the head from his mother and his father once again blaming himself. They wouldn't have much room to do anything but sleep and dress but it would work for now.

Once the room was done, they walked out to make small talk with their parents and family members.

There wasn't really anything else to do at the moment and on that day, both of the boys rejected their parents suggestion to go and hang with their friends. Both not expecting that their friends would understand and hoping that they would be able to hide their new life from their parents. They just wouldn't understand. Instead they stayed home and attempted to entertain themselves with a little free-to-air television and taking a lengthy walk around their new neighbourhood, to get used to it but also making sure that they wouldn't go anywhere near where their friends would see them and question them. Only returning when it was time for dinner, with the boys tucking into the small portion of Mac and Cheese that they received, due to the food having to be shared. Their stomachs rumbled but they ignored it and spent some more time talking with their parents about what they were going to do about school lunches and what not before heading to bed. Neither of the boys entirely happy with their answers, but they changed into sleeping gear and got ready for the hell of pretending to be normal. Pyjama pants for both and a simple t-shirt. While they were used to sleeping in less, the fact they were both sharing a bed along with being in their aunt and uncle's house had the boys choosing to wear a little more.

Lying in bed with only his thoughts talking, affected the twelve year old as his mind began to question what was going to go wrong next and if he was going to be forced away from his parents and away from...

"J-Jonah? Jonah?" Avi muttered, lying there in bed.

"Y-Yeah?" Jonah replied tiredly.

"Are you awake?" Avi nervously asked, not looking towards his brother.

"Yeah?"

"Do you promise to never ever leave me?" Avi whispered.

Sleepily, Jonah groaned. "Shut up…"

"Promise!"

Despite wondering what this was about, Jonah opened his eyes and sighed. "I promise. Now go to sleep, we have school tomorrow."

The brothers fell silent for a moment before Avi spoke once more.

"Jonah?"

"What is it?" Jonah questioned, without opening his eyes.

Avi never responded, simply lowered himself into the old pillow and began to drift off. Sighing, Jonah rolled over and rest his arm over his little brother protectively. He wasn't sure why but Avi smiled as his brother's arms wrapped around him, they were strong and warm but most of all they were lovingly protective. His world around him was falling apart from under him, but he felt safe.

He wouldn't say out loud but as he drifted off, Avi thoughts were clear. 'I love you…'

Pushing back so a little part of him was in contact with Jonah's body, Avi slowly drifted off with the dirty blond boy experiencing one of his worst nightmares since finding out about the bankruptcy that his parents were experience as his thoughts of Jonah leaving him turned into the mental image of Avi being left along as Jonah walked away. The parents nowhere around and the twelve year old being left, in the middle of nowhere with no one.

Jonah had left him.

The teen's nightmare continued as Avi began to shake and shiver, tears escaping his eyes once more and wetting his new pillow until he was pulled out of his nightmares. Finding himself safe inside of his new small shared bedroom, with the light snores of his older brother filling his eyes and calming him slightly. Rolling over to face Jonah, the dirty blond wondered if his brother would mind if he cuddled up to him for more of the safe protected feeling he had received earlier. He found his brother on his back and smiled, thinking that it would be a hundred times easier to cuddle up to him like this.

As he moved toward his brother, Avi noticed something that had him stopping. His older brother's shirt had ridden up and revealed his chest. While Avi had seen his brother shirtless numerous times, including when they had changed for bed tonight, this was different. The night's darkness hid his developing blush from the rest of the world, Avi focused on Jonah's revealed chest. Watching as the defined chest moved from his brother's sleeping breaths, revealing their definition before relaxing as Jonah twitched. His eyes couldn't stop themselves from tracing the line that divided his brother's perfect looking chest in two, before moving back down his pecs to where the fifteen year old's abs laid.

A sight that had Avi nervously gulping.

With his greyish green eyes locked on his brother's moonlight lit chest, a confused Avi slowly moved his hand toward his brother's chest. Lightly letting his fingers come into contact with his brother's definition. He nervously paused when Jonah twitched from the touched and moved a little before settling back down, subconsciously content with Avi's fingers touching him.

Relaxing as his older brother settled, Avi began to slowly use his fingers to trace his brother's six-pack, blushing from the feeling of them while wondering if he would get a chest like this when he reached his brother's age. Through if he could do it without playing Ultimate, he would prefer it. While he enjoyed playing it with his brother, Avi was the first to admit that Ultimate really wasn't a real sport and made sure to use it against his brother as much as he could. At least, he did until his brother had returned from camp well and truly over Ultimate. Since this was also around the time their lives started going down hill, Avi ignored trying to find out why his brother had changed.

Now, he was beginning to wonder when his opinions on Jonah had changed and why he was here tracing his brother's near chiselled abs. Avi's hand continued to slowly tease his brother's abs for a few moments until boredom and sleepiness began to sink into the twelve year old boy. While he found himself enjoying the feel of Jonah's firm muscles under his fingers, there really wasn't much else for him to do. Except for ignoring the confused feeling of excitement that mixed with the protective loving persona that Jonah had formed inside of him.

Avi felt his heavy eyes fluttering with tiredness and almost as if a weight had been laid on his body that pressed the young boy heavily into the mattress and Jonah's arm wrapped underneath him. The hand that had been caressing Jonah and his chest came to rest on one of those solid, perfect pecs. He had to move around a little, blushing as he felt one of Jonah's hardened nipple poking him. But when he managed to get comfortable, then the boy fell as his mind drifted. Chest in hand, his lips slightly parted in awe and a childish sleepiness that left the young boy looking too cute to move.

In the middle of the night, Jonah woke enough to realise that Avi had cuddled up to him in the middle of the night and instead of over reacting like he normally would have, he simply moved his arms around and cuddled his brother. The twelve year old wasn't entirely sure why but as Jonah's arms wrapped around him, his dream calmed and the boy experienced one of his best sleeps since he found out about his family's bad luck.

A final heavy breath left the brothers, before a deep, dark sleep.
