God Sent Angels

Raito… L couldn't get his mind off of the boy. L stared at the photo of the young child, why would Kira kill his family and not the boy? The answer was far from simple.

The family had been killed weeks ago and since then Raito had gone to NPA headquarters every day after school and requested to speak with the people in charge of the Kira case.

Of course he was bound to run into one of the people assigned to the case at some point and who was he to run into but Matsuda.

"Matsuda san" Raito had bowed to the man who had once worked with his father.

"Raito! What are you doing here alone?" the young man asked.

"I need to talk to L, please." Raito said looking up at him.

"He's been asking that every day," the man behind the front desk told Matsuda.

"Why don't you just tell me Raito and I'll pass the message along?" Raito shock his head no. He couldn't just tell anyone, it had to be L. Only L would understand the message. "Okay kiddo, come with me and I'll take you to see L," he finally said after looking into Raito's puppy dog like eyes. Raito took Matsuda's hand and the dark haired man took the strange child to meet the great detective known as L.

As soon as they walked into L's headquarters they were stopped by Wateri. "Matsuda what are you doing bringing a child here?" he asked

"Sir," Raito answered in perfect English, "I have to talk to Mr. L, it's really important that he hears what I have to say about Kira, Sir."

"And what is it that you need to tell him?" Wateri asked the boy.

"I have to tell him Sir. Kira will be mad if I don't tell him."

Wateri looked at Matsuda and then back at the child, "What's your name?"

"Yagami Raito, or urm... Light Yagami…" he said forgetting momentarily that they were talking in English.

Recognition flashed in Wateri's eyes at his name and he nodded, "very well follow me and you can talk to L."

L insprected the child as he sat at the table in the center of the room. Raito stared back at him waiting for him to speak first.

"What does Raito kun have to say to me?" L asked the boy.

"Before I tell you, I have to ask you something," Raito asked cautiously, L didn't respond. Raito took that as a yes and continued, "do you believe in God?"

"No I do not Raito kun."

Raito sighed, "then you wouldn't believe that Kira is a god would you?"

"A god, Raito kun?" L asked as he sipped his coffee, "how did you come to think such a thing?"

"He is a god of death, a shimigami."

I wrote this a few years ago, and I'm not sure where I was going with it, Raito was young about 7 and I know that he was going to be an angel or something... but I didn't outline it... so if anyone could give me some ideas? to help me pick up with the story I would be really happy! thanks3
