The Dovemon Chronicles:

Beginning

By PolarGatomon

Before the Digidestinds came to the Digital World, it was ruled by a strict but friendly king named Dovemon. As king it was Dovemon's job to keep the peace in the Digital World. Even though he got some help from the former king, Egradomon, he mostly on his own.

Even though most of the Digimon liked Dovemon, a small band of Digimon did not. They called themselves the Digimon Bandits, and their leader was the Digimon Card Keeper. He was a human who kept the cards that held each Digimon's power. If he found a Digimon's card he despised, he could either turn that Digimon evil, or destroy it.

You see, the Digimon card keeper had also ran for king, and lost to Dovemon by a lot. After that day he hated Dovemon and was determined to do whatever he could to get rid of Dovemon. He tried to destroy Dovemon's card, but since Dovemon was king, his card was invincible. Now he was on to his second plan.

Dovemon looked out the window of his room. Dovemon was a falcon Digimon that looked like a giant white eagle. It was a cloudy day and rain was threatening to fall on his kingdom. Suddenly the door to his room burst open. A Shilomon, a golden retriever Digimon, ran in the room panting.

"Master, the Chainmon are invading the kingdom. You must come at once!"

Dovemon flew past Shilomon, muttering angrily. The Chainmon were evil Digimon that worked for the Digimon card keeper. They were made of steel and had long chain whips.

Dovemon flew out the front castle doors into mayhem. His army of Tabbymon and Shilomon were fighting the Chainmon. Dovemon got ready to join the battle when a huge Chainmon stepped out of the crowd.

"I am the General Chainmon," he said. "Without me the other Chainmon will perish. I have orders from my master to destroy you!"

"Try to catch me!" Dovemon snapped. With that, he flew into the castle.

Dovemon flew swiftly through the castle with the Chainmon close behind.

"Ultra Chain Whip!" General Chainmon shouted. A gigantic chain flew at Dovemon, knocking him over. "Ha!" General Chainmon laughed. "Now I shall complete my master's work. Good-bye, Dovemon."

But before Chainmon fired, a strange creaking sound came from the end of the corridor. Dovemon looked up. The gate that led from the Digital World to Earth was slowly opening for the first time in fifty years!

"What the heck is going on here?" Chainmon muttered. Slowly the gate opened. Finally, it finished, and a really confused kid stepped into the corridor.

"Where am I?" he asked. Something the kid was holding caught Dovemon's eye.

"A digivice," he whispered. Suddenly, the digivice in the kid's hand started to glow. The kid let out a yelp of surprise. Dovemon felt himself changing. His wings grew thick and pink. His body grew long and turned the same color as his wings. He had digivolved into a dragon-like Digimon called Veclorimon.

"Wow," the kid gasped, "Did I do that?"

"Ultra Chain Whip!" Chainmon shouted. The chain bounced harmlessly off Veclorimon.

"Sacred Curse!" Two blue beams shot out of Veclorimon's eyes, disintegrating Chainmon.

Outside Dovemon's army was losing badly. The Shilomon and Tabbymon's attacks all bounced harmlessly off the Chainmon's steel armor. But then Veclorimon flew out of the castle without the General. Since the Chainmon couldn't live without their general, one by one they disappeared. All of Dovemon army cheered, except Veclorimon.

"The Digimon Card Keeper will be back," he muttered. "And next time he'll have stronger Digimon with him.
