Picking Up Where We Left Off

AN: Well, everyone knows I've been struggling to create a good PJO story, and I must say, I am proud of this one. Like, very proud. It's was pretty random, though Kelly prompted me(He's not much of a dancer...) and this is what happened.
Just some slightly angsty Percabeth fluff. I figured that after stockholm syndrome—which, by the way, thank you guys so much for the great responses!—you all deserved some cute fluff.
So, like as Kelly stated, Percy and Annabeth are more prone to being romantic and cute right after surviving a big battle or something along those lines. I mean, The Titan's Curse? The Last Olympian? ...Come on, guys. It's a Percabeth thing to dance romantically or just do adorable things after surviving again... *sighs dreamily*
Hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own PJO/HoO.
He's not much of a dancer, but they're both alive and healthy, and that's all that she can ask for.
It's bittersweet on Olympus; she only knew him for a short amount of time, but she owes her life—she owed Percy's life to him. And for that, she's forever be grateful to him.
They sway back and forth, weaving through various couples—some looking completely sweet and adorable, like Piper and Jason, some looking disgruntled, like Reyna and Leo(well, more Reyna than Leo), and some looking like they were reluctant to be dancing together, but secretly pleased, very much like Travis and Katie. She's not exactly sure what the others are hearing, but in her mind, the Muses are playing a soft, soothing melody. A little sad, but a little hopeful—kind of like the first time that she danced with Percy on Olympus.
"'Beth?" She smiles slightly at the nickname. It's specially reserved for times when they're alone, and every single time she hears him call her that, she can't help but get butterflies in her stomach.
"Yeah?" she replies softly.
"You seemed like you were zoning out," he notes with a hint of curiosity. His green eyes glow underneath the dim lights, and she can't stop herself from thinking how lucky she is to have him. "Is everything okay?"
She nods, and she finds Hazel, who has finally gotten away from her brother, leaning up against the wall. The younger girl looks as depressed as Annabeth felt when Percy was missing, and a pang of remorse hits her again. This is the second war that she and Percy have survived, and it's a wonder that they did so. Some people didn't get that lucky.
"Yeah," she says. A smile tugs at her lips. "I...I'm glad you're not dead, Seaweed Brain."
Her boyfriend grins. "I'm glad you're not dead either," he mumbles, and she leans her head on his chest.
They sway back and forth across the floor, the song slowly coming to an end. She's fully aware that Aphrodite—it's definitely Aphrodite, because aren't the Roman gods supposed to be more disciplined?—is squealing about how cute they are, and how her daughters, even Piper, are agreeing, though most aren't as flamboyant with it as their mother. She can feel her mother's glare, and can almost hear the Stoll brothers' laughter in her head.
But being in Percy's arms, alive and ready to pick up where they'd left off, Annabeth finds that she doesn't care.
AN: This is also going on Tumblr... Wish me luck in trying to post it.
