I'm Glad I Met You
Mirai Kuriyama was walking through a carnival with her boyfriend, Akihito Kanbara. A caramel apple in hand, and a smile on her face, Mirai was looking around the various tents of different colors and sizes, trying to figure out what to do next. In the middle of her viewing of the tents, Mirai stopped and stared at Akihito.
Mirai was amazed at how much Akihito had changed her life. Before she met Akihito, Mirai was miserable and lonely. Her ability to control her blood made her an outcast everywhere they went, and that negative attitude cost her potential friends in both real life and Twitter. That all changed as she got closer to Akihito.
At first, Mirai thought that Akihito was playing a prank on her or wanted something from her. However, as she started talking to him more, Mirai realized that he was much more to her than that. Akihito helped her pay rent, took her out to lunch, gave her a shoulder to cry on, made her feel positive feelings that she hadn't felt since she was a young child. Now, she couldn't imagine living without Akihito in her life.
"Mirai?" Akihito asked, waving a hand in front of her face.
"Huh!? What is it, Senpai?" Mirai asked, a little flustered due to the surprise.
"Mirai, how many times have I told you that you don't have to call me 'Senpai'? We're both equal partners in this relationship, so you can call me 'Akihito'," Akihito explained to her, patting her on the head, causing her face to explode into a red blush.
"Sorry Sen…Akihito," Mirai muttered, before getting a kiss on the cheek from Akihito.
"So why were you just staring at me? I mean, you were just looking at me nonstop for a few minutes, and I thought you were going to run into something," Akihito asked, causing Mirai's blush to grow even bigger and brighter.
"Oh…it was…nothing Akihito. It's just that…I…I…," Mirai stammered before she suddenly turned around and enveloped Akihito in a deep hug. "I'm just so happy that I met you," Mirai finished, muffled due to her face being virtually buried in Akihito's shirt. Akihito smiled a warm smile, before hugging Mirai back.
"I'm happy that I met you too, Mirai," Akihito responded, the two sharing a kiss that went on for a minute before they smiled at each other and continued through the carnival.
