THE SUPER WONDER EXPERIENCE
One year after the departure of Vandel Savage on the War World, most of the criminals and superpowered villains have separated and began to bring havoc separately. On the outskirts of Gotham, Superboy and Wonder Girl were dispatched to handle two bruisers that were attempting to hold up an Armored Car.
Connor alias Superboy quickly ducked under "Blockbusters" punch as the brute tried to hit him. He just as fast swung his own blow into the ugly man's face knocking Blockbuster back. Bounding to the left Connor caught a glimpse of Cassandra kicking Devastation across her front. Spotting Connor she smiled then said. "Maneuver 19 in 5." Connor knew instantly what she meant and moved forward catching another of Blockbuster's punches around his wrist. Taking a step back Connor pulled the Brute of his feet and began to spin Blockbuster around him. At the same time Cassandra, lassoed Devastation and began to spin her as well around her. Silently counting to 5, they then slammed the two together with a mighty crash. Both flopped to the ground in a pile and Cassandra quickly wrapped here golden lasso around them binding them.
"Good Job." Connor said as he went over to bend the metal sign post that held the two Armored Car Drivers. Looking on he spotted the Local Federal Agents driving up. The Five Agents nodded then put inhibitor collars on both Blockbuster and Devastation. All the while Connor stood next to Cassandra waiting for the Agents and the Guards to leave. As soon as they were out of sight he grabbed Cassandra and swung her around. Laughing as she squealed.
"Well that is one way to make our date memorable." Cassandra said as she smiled down at Connor. Leaning down to kiss him. Not quite believing that they had been dating for almost eight months since Connor broke up with Megan again.
Connor smirked then frowned. "I did promise you a surprise, unfortunately this wasn't it." He looked up at Cassandra and then he released her. She floated in the spot he had held her.
"Well we might as well call it an evening. Your place or mine tonight?" Cassandra asked as she seductively smiled at him.
"Yours, it is closer and it will take hours to get to Metropolis even by Zeta. If we go up to the Watch Tower Batman will want to debrief us tonight." Connor replied as Cassandra circled him.
"Need a Lift." She said knowing he could just jump the whole way but it would be easier if she just carried him.
"Yes, but no inflight kissing or hugging on the way. The last time." He did not finish when he saw her wrinkle her nose.
"That tree just popped out of nowhere and you were the one that kissed me while I was flying." She informed him pointing her finger at him. Then moving behind, him she hugged him around the chest and streaked towards Gotham and her apartment. In moments, they landed in the alley overlooking her apartment building. "See or hear anyone?" She asked as Connor used his somewhat super senses to check.
"Nope." He said as he removed his T-Shirt and flipped it inside out. Hiding the Red "S". While Cassandra started to spin and in seconds was standing in front of him wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. "You got to teach me to do that." He said admiring her.
"Only Wonder Woman and I can do it, Sorry." Cassandra then took his hand leaned in and kissed him. Then walked with him to her apartment.
The Next day on the Watch Tower, Connor and Cassandra gave their report to Batman then went to see what their teams were up to. As they approached Connor saw Artemis, Bart, Virgil, and then the others. Stepping over to talk to Artemis she immediately walked over to Connor.
"I heard about last night. You haven't done it yet have you." Artemis asked looking cross at Connor.
"No, it kind of ruined the mood having to pound on Blockbuster and Devastation." Connor said as he reached into his pocked making sure the item was still there.
"Well you can do it tonight." Artemis said then grinned. "Or right now. Go on get over there and ask her." But Connor did not move. He looked over at Cassandra as she gave a blow by blow occurrence to Hawkman, Hawkwoman and Superman. Shifting behind him Artemis started to push him over towards Cassandra. Both knew that Artemis would need a ten-ton bulldozer to even move him an inch but he stepped over anyhow. She then asked the Hawks and Superman to move over and show her how to reprogram something. That she already knew how.
Leaving Connor standing in front of Cassandra. Looking around he saw everyone watching him and Cassandra. Frowning he instantly thought. "What does everyone know but Cassandra." Then he kneeled, pulling the small box out of his pocket. Cassandra's eyes flew wide as she moved her hands to her mouth to stop from looking like a smiling idiot.
"Cassy Will You Marry Me?" He asked as he took her left hand and looked up at her. She beamed down at him and started to cry.
"Yes oh Yes. I will marry you." Then felt him put the ring on her finger kiss it and stand to hug and kiss her. Moving to stand beside her the others in the room flocked over to congratulate them and offer advice. Even Batman seemed to smirk slightly.
When Hawkman approached he looked right at Connor. "I will give you a piece of advice, Connor. I have learned from my two centuries of marriage to the same woman, remember these words and you will always be happy. She is always right and you are only right when she tells you that you are right." Then he looked over at his own wife seeing her glare at him. "See someday you will also get those glares and love every one of them." Everyone that heard started to laugh as Hawkwoman stepped over and lightly punched Hawkman on his arm. Then called him a Cad.
Superman came over and kissed Cassandra on the side of her left face. "Congratulations, it looks like I am going to have a little sister along with a little brother. Of course, hopefully in the future I will have a couple of nieces and nephews." Connor stared at him with shock then recovered.
"Maybe I should tell Lois that a double wedding might be a good idea." Connor said as he saw Clark become sullen.
"Don't you dare. She is pushing for a wedding date already." Clark said as he smiled.
"Well if she asked tell her you will be too busy being my best man." Connor said as Clark grabbed Connor's hand and clasped it.
"I would be honored. But Cassandra do not under any circumstances throw the flowers in Lois's direction." Then all three laughed and Batman got everyone's attention it was time to get back to work. But everyone felt that what just happened was more important than briefings and status reports.
Everyone was happy for Connor and Cassandra save one. As Megan looked at the couple she pulled her hood up and passed through the floor heading to her room to cry.
