A/N this hhstory didn't came to me in a dream as do many of my one shots, but it's based on a conversation between me and my little brother. it's based on the idea that Legolas and Aragorn have been friends since Aragorn was little. this takes place when Aragorn is about twelve. please reveiw! i like hearing what people think of my stuff.

Legolas was staying in Rivendell and was about to go practice his archery, when Estel knocked on the door.

"Estel! it's good to see you, mellon nin (my friend)!' legolas noticed the look on the boy's face and for a moment wondered if Elrond had told him of his destiny to be king of men.'are you well?' Estel said nothing,'do you want to come in?' Estel nodded, and sat on the bed. Legolas pulled up a chair across from his friend,'are you going to tell me what happened that has made you seem so sorrowful?'

'something's wrong with me, Legolas!' Estel cried.

'what do you mean? did the twins tell you that?' Elladan and Elrohir often said things like that to their little brother.

'no. i just know!'

'have you spoken to your adar (father) about this?'

'yes. he just laughed.'

'well, tell me.'

Estel whiped his nose on the sleeve of his tunic before he spoke,'well, you know Arwen?'

'yes.' "no shit!" Legolas thought.

"well, everytime i see her, i get this funny feeling.'

Legolas smiled,'in here?' he put a hand on his heart.

'no. a little farther south accually.'

'oh...uh...okay, Estel, this totally normal. and it's going to keep happening. well, you know where babies come from right?'

'yea, there's a magical fairy that makes mommies get babies.' Estel grinned, proud he had known the answer. Legolas put his face in his hands.

'okay, Estel, when a nana (mommy) and an adar love each other very much...'

three hours later: 'what?! no! trees have nothing to do with this! focus!'

three more hours later:' nana and ada did WHAT?!'

three more, more hours later:' Now you get it. that is where babies come from. don't you feel better knowing that there's nothing wrong with you?'

'nana and ada did what?!'
