'Nick? Nick you 'wake?' Ellis asked. I darted up. It was still dark, no light to be seen. Then it hit me. Where I was, what had happened….

"TANK!" I had yelled. A Tank, bigger than most mind you, came out from behind a building. It growled, a deep, rumbling sound, and ran towards us.

'Run, Nick!' Ellis had screamed, we were almost at the Army helicopter.

"I'll be there, I just have to kill this thing. Get Ro and Coach onto the plane." I said firmly, trying to keep my voice steady and calm, but it broke.

'Buddy, if anything happens… You are a good man Nick.' He smiled and ran. The Tank was running, so close now. I shot it, and it came a runnin', as they say down here.

"Just keep them safe, God, even if I don't make it…. Let them live." I whispered as I cocked the gun. Then I ran the direction of the copter, so they could at least acknowledged that I had died.

"Just let them live…" I whispered again as I shot it in rapid succession, each shot hitting it's mark. But it wasn't enough. It hit me, send me flying. I just knew I was going to die. I closed my eyes and sighed. I did trust my teammates, and I died for them… or so I thought…

"Ellis… how did I live?" I asked. Then he told me.

'You were on the ground, 'parently dead from whut I seen.' he said.

I ran out of the helicopter.

"Over here you steroid junkie!" I yelled. It turned, and I shot it. God damn me if it didn't fall over dead.

"Nick?" I felt for a heartbeat, pulse, anything.

'Ellis…' he said.

"Hold on, ya gonna live, bud." I picked him up, and we got on the copter and headed to the Keys where we were now, safe from everything.

"Well Ellis…. Thank you." I turned to leave.

'Nick? I have to tell you something….'

"Yes?"

'I did do mouth-to-mouth on ya, bud.'

"I know, I remember that part." I said, blushing red all over my face.
