Nezumi lay wide awake every night, all night, not getting a single wink of sleep.
Why?
The simple question surrounded him, filled him bottom to top and smothered him so much Nezumi thought he was suffocating.
He thought of those eyes, brilliantly colored red and shining with purity.
He thought of that hair, white as snow, almost giving off the illusion of glowing.
He thought of that creamy, porcelain skin, soft, kissable pink lips and that voice, more beautiful than a bid's song softly calling his name.
The nights sleep evaded him, he thought of sShion.
Then his mind came back around to the question.
Why?
It haunted Nezumi more than anything, driving away all traces of seep.
But why did he leave him?
Why would he ever leave the one he loved more than anything else in his life?
He had been wary and scared of those unrealized feelings, but why did he leave?
And even forgoing that…
Why couldn't he go back?
It had been so long since had last seen Shion…he missed him terribly. But at the same time he found himself, for unknown reasons, be unable to return to him.
Maybe one night when he was finally unable to tolerate the painful feelings of being away, he would push his exhausted, sleep-deprived body off his old, stained mattress and fly back to where he belonged—Shion's side.
When that time came, he could only hope for one thing.
That Shion would accept him with open arms and forgive him.
Would it happen?
It was such a far stretch…
But he would accept him.
Because he was Shion he would accept him.
And then they would begin to love each other more than ever before.
