His heart thumps in his chest, once, twice, thrice. He can feel his blood as it circulates through his veins, a new gush being released with each powerful bang of his heart. He breathes through his nose, relishing in the refreshing air that goes down his lungs, and it's euphoric.
For once, he has no worries, has no fears, has no anything. There is nothing but comfort, nothing but an endless feeling of safety that manages to swallow him whole. He doesn't want to leave, doesn't want to resist.
For one blessed moment, he's free.
At once, the moment is over.
He wheezes, his glazed eyes opening. The world around him is burning, the tranquility of the dream being replaced by all-consuming terror. He's gasping for air, desperate, but he just can't get enough. Dark spots dance around in his vision, and he can hear laughter.
Maniacal laughter.
Voldemort appears, his cackles resounding loudly in his mind, and Harry tries to flinch away. He can't let the other touch him, can't let this happen!
Voldemort takes a step forward, and Harry can practically taste his panic. Closer, closer, closer, soon Voldemort is right above him. He reaches out, a pale hand mere inches from Harry's skin. Green eyes close, unwilling to see what happens.
One moment, two moments, a bright beam of light.
Harry Potter is no more.
