The rain pounding against the roof relaxed him. Draco Malfoy put his head against the icy window, taking deep, calming breaths. His mind was reeling with what he had to do, it was 1:28 AM and he couldn't sleep a wink.
His cold blue eyes caught a shape of something in the distance through the window. He quickly glanced around the room, no one was awake. Grabbing his thigh length raven black pea jacket, he quickly left the room.
Leaving the castle into the grassy plain, Draco took a deep breath. It was merely sprinkling so he could walk through to the mysterious shape with ease. Walking towards the black lake, the shape became a frame of a girl working heartily in a sketch pad.
Draco walked slowly to where the girl was sitting, pausing next to the tree she was leaning against as she was drawing. He was in awe of her talent, of course wanting to tell her, but having to keep up his reputation as the rude, mean Slytherin. The thought filled him with anger. Just this once he'd like to be the real Draco. He tapped her lightly on the shoulder. Startled, she looked up, pulling out a headphone and turning off what Draco had learned was called an 'iPod touch'. He smiled, slightly amused, at the strangely muggle product on campus grounds.
"Yes?" The girl asked politely, even though she was retraining herself from kicking him for his personality.
"Can…i…join…you?" He asked, slightly nervous, knowing that, being a Ravenclaw, she must hate him. All the other houses hated him, hell, most his own house secretly hated him.
The girl tilted her head slightly in confusion at this Draco's personality. She nodded curtly and continued drawing.
"I'm Draco"
This made the girl smile slightly, "I know, well, everyone knows. I'm Sara."
Draco smiled, not a smirk, a smile as he watched Sara draw. They both seemed content just sitting there. In each other's presence.
Sara began to feel awkward and self-conscious of her drawing, she close the sketch pad, standing abruptly and hugging her drawing pad to her chest. Draco got up also and murmured, "I guess you must go. Thanks for letting me watch"
Sara was in shock, but said cruelly, "what? No pure-blood jokes? No calling me a dirty mud-blood? No saying that-"
Draco couldn't stand her telling him what he was forced to say on a daily basis. He cut her off with a kiss, then left her, dazed, as he rushed to the Slytherin common room.
Sara stood there, shaking her head, mumbling "what the bloody 'ell was that!" as she walked into her dormitory.
