Disclaimer: I do not own anything I use in this story I'm pretty sure I don't even really own the idea just this version of it.
Pharaoh Atem and Heba were lovers, but Teana who was trying to become the Pharaoh's wife at the time convinced one of the Pharaoh's priests to help her and sold Heba into slavery on another continent. Pharaoh Atem thinking his love was dead committed suicide and had his priests put one of his four canopic jars in each of the places Heba and he would meet in the hopes that he could be closer to Heba. The gods taking pity on him immortalized those four places so that when Heba was reincarnated they might be together again.
Yugi Motou had just graduated from college and was boarding the plane to Egypt and his first real dig and he was practically buzzing with energy. Ever since the first time his grandpa took him there when he was little he had been itching to go back. There was just something about the area that he loved he had been so sad when he had had to leave and go back to Japan. This time he didn't have to go back, this time he was going to stay.
Atem glared at the intruders "why couldn't people stop coming into my home the only person other than me that was allowed here was…"
"Heba"
Atom's attention snapped towards the conversation between the two people.
"In your language my name means heba." The shorter of the intruders said grinning in a way that reminded him achingly of his lost little lover. Their appearances were similar too now that he really looked "They could have been twins." The only difference he could find was that this person was paler than the Heba of his memories, but it had been thousands of years…
"Well, the house is yours Mr. Motou…just be careful."
"Ah, I remember him every time he comes here he brings someone new and most of the time the person he brings stays…" Atem watch eyes filled with excitement as his Heba walked back into their house and shut the door behind him.
A.N. I'm sorry for not updating my other stories lately, but I have a handful of different characters from different stories that I go back and forth reading about and I tend to write about whichever I'm reading about currently and I read all the stories I can find with that character pared with certain other people. Anyway at the moment that character is Yugi and he's with Yami/Atem.
For future reference:
'ana uħibbuk' = 'I love you' in Egyptian.
Of course I'm not quite sure if that's reliable or how far back that translation would be correct if it is. Also if anybody knows Egyptian and a translation I use is wrong please let me know.
