Authors note:

This is a story about John getting set to world again while Savannah is home mad and upset.

I met this girl, Savannah, the day after I got back from the war I purposed to her. We happily married at the beach, where we met. Another war has begun now and now the army is asking me to become general. They sent me a note:

Dear John,

We need you to become General. You're the only one who has enough experience. Are other general died last week of the swine flu. May you please? Take this place of honor to become general?

I quickly closed the letter. Savannah was walking up the drive way.

"Hey" she said. "Hey" I replied. "Can you help me with the groceries"?

"Sure" I said. I grabbed 3 bags and headed in the door. I opened the bag to find flowers.

"What's up with the flowers"? I asked. "Are anniversary, remember"? I banged the table. "You forgot, didn't you"? I didn't reply. "John" savannah said irritated. "Sorry, it's just, I-I" stammered. "You what"? Savannah asked while she grabbed the letter behind my back. "THEY WANT YOU TO BE GENERAL"? Savannah said surprised and mad at the same time. I nodded my head. "John, this is serious". "I know" I replied. She closed the letter quickly.

"Why didn't you tell me"? "I was going"- "on are anniversary witch you forgot"? Savannah interrupted. I didn't reply. She was never this mad. Savannah just ran up the stairs.

I called the navy to say I was in. I would never let are country down. They told me to pack my bags tonight. I was in the middle of packing my bags when savannah interrupted. "You're leaving"? I turned around. "Yes" I replied. I grabbed my bag and headed out the door.

I was at the train station when are train 222 came to a stop. I climbed aboard. The whole train ride I didn't eat anything, I just looked out the window and thought about Savannah. No I can't do this. I quickly dialed the navy and resigned. They told me it was alright because they had a back up and he already said yes. "We're only letting you off the hook this time, but next time you're going to jail" the man on the phone said. "I understand" I replied. On the way home I got Savannah a 100 dollar necklace.
