DISCLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter or make any profit from this.
A/N: o_o;; I got this idea from Carrie Underwood's song, Temporary Home from the last verse with her grandfather dying. So…yeah….R&R please.
Ginny, Albus, James, and Lily were crowded around the bed. Ginny and Lily were both holding one of Harry's hands, tears shining in their eyes. James and Albus, the family pranksters, stood at the foot of the bed, sad smiles on their faces. Even though they were able to make some joke at any time, even once at Grandfather Arthur's funeral. But no joke came to their mind and even if one did, they didn't have the courage to say anything.
Months back Harry had been diagnosed with a terminal disease, given only a three month estimate of survival. Ever the fighter, Harry had made it a year and a half before finally it caught up with him. His withered and wrinkled body was dressed clad in a suit and his traveling cloak, his glasses slightly askew. His breathing was deathly slow and his eyes were mostly closed, barely opened.
"Ginny, do you think there is a heaven?" Harry's wheezing voice murmured. Ginny smiled slightly and nodded, squeezing her husband's hand reassuringly. "It's a nice idea. I hope Mum and Dad are there. And Sirius, he should be there too. Remus and Tonks also. Dumbledore also, good man Dumbledore." His eyes opened slowly, for once since he had been diagnosed they held the same sparkle that had been absent.
There was silence until Harry let out a silent gasp. "I see 'em, Gin. They're all here," he said in awe. Ginny, Lily, James, and Albus followed his gaze to the door of the room. If they looked hard enough, they could see a small light shining from nowhere and a group of people long since dead. James Potter Senior and Lily Evans stood side by side, beaming with happiness. They looked just as they did the night they had died. Sirius stood next to James, grinning proudly. He looked younger than he had the day he had stepped through the veil. Remus and Tonks were behind James and Lily, smiling sadly at Harry. Dumbledore stood in the back of everyone, grinning at Harry.
Harry breathed in his last breath and closed his eyes before his spirit vacated his body. His spirit looked just like he had in his seventh year. He gave a final look to his family, saddened to see tears streaming down their eyes, James and Albus holding Ginny and Lily in a hug. Ginny pressed a kiss to his bodies lips and sniffled. Harry lightly patted Ginny's shoulder, smiling when the woman looked around in surprise.
Harry strode over to the awaiting spirits and smiled. His parents enveloped him in a hug and Sirius clapped him on the shoulder. Together, they slowly walked into the light.
