A/N: It's been a while since I last watched a Sports game so I decided on the Japan vs. America in the WWC. I was so excited for us to win, but I was also kinda of hopeing Japan would win to help life their spirits. Either way, I am glad we played a good game and I don't minde that we lost because it was well fought. :3 I love soccer so much~
Though... I do loves those Olympics more... /waits-stalks Yong-Soo
"USA! USA!" It was already ten minutes into the game and Alfred's team had made so many great shots at the goal. "USA!" The chant caught on and soon people around the stadium were chanting along.
The booming stadium around him was cheering for their respective countries. Alfred looked at the small Japanese man beside him. His usual quiet disposition was gone and replaced with something akin not only to pride but hope that his team would win.
"Great game," Alfred called to him. The man next to him nodded.
"Don't think my ladies will go easy on you because we are friends, Mr. America."
"I would hope so, Kiku. I want a tough game for my girls." The American was glowing with pride and practically jittery with how close his team had come to winning the WWC Cup for a third time. "I don't want an easy win."
"Who says you'll win? My ladies are tough and we fight till the end." Kiku demanded. He was waving a large Japanese flag and his face was painted similarly. Alfred's own face was also painted with his national colors and was waving three mini US flags.
"I love my friends, but sports are different. I beat Germany and I will beat you, too." Kiku's eyes were lit up with pride for his team.
"Hey, they're showing us on the big screen!" Alfred waved to the camera and Kiku did too, even though he was nervous.
"Yeah…" Alfred thought of his earlier loss to England and before that, Sweden. He remembered watching Finland congratulate the large Swede after the game. "But just 'cause Mattie and I lost to our Dad's doesn't mean we can't kick an old guys butt like you!" Alfred teased.
Kiku stiffened. "We'll see about that, Mr. America."
"C'mon Kiku. Friendly terms. It's Alfred!" Alfred cheered when he saw Wambach kick close to the net. The ball hit under the bar and popped back out before a goal could be made. "Way to go, kiddo!"
Then it was Kiku's turn to cheer at a successful interception. "However this ends they deserved it."
"Yeah." Alfred shook hands with Kiku. "But your team could use the lifted spirits. You know… after the tsunami…"
The game was over and Alfred was shaking Kiku's hand again. The women behind each of them were both crying happily.
"Good game, dude."
"Same to you, Alfred."
"You really needed this boost." Alfred clapped the Japanese man on the shoulder. "You and your kids."
"It was an honor to fight against you in this game. Thank you."
"Yeah, well, I'll beat you next time." Then Alfred laughed obnoxiously. "So don't get used to it. We went easy on ya."
Kiku nodded.
"C'mon guys, you need to hit the showers," Alfred joked as he waved his hand in front of his nose. "You smell." Wambach slapped Alfred's arm as they ran past then, high-fiving their rivals and towards the locker rooms.
