"Why?"

That was the first thing Glinda asked when she saw her old friend, Elphaba, right in front of her. Glinda was awoken when she heard something crawling through her windows. She was unsure but she assumed that it was at least three in the morning.

It had been years since Elphaba faked her death and only now did she sneak into the castle to talk to Glinda. Tears formed in both of their eyes as they looked each other. She hasn't changed, the both of them thought. After a few more moments, Elphaba finally walked forward and looked Glinda right in the eyes.

"I'm so sorry," she said as a tear slid down her cheek. "I should've told you I was still alive."

Glinda sighed and put her hand on Elphaba's shoulder, giving her a weak smile as she wiped the tears out of her eyes. "It's alright, Elphie. It would've been quite dangerous if you tried before, you know?" Glinda said, trying to brighten the mood. The two girls stood there silent before Elphaba started to weep.

"I'm sorry," she repeated under her breath. Frowning, Glinda tried to comfort her friend as she let Elphaba sit on her bed. She didn't want to see Elphaba like this. She really didn't.
